~Candice~

I slowly opened my eyes to see a strange sight. My ceiling. And then my clock, which read that I had exactly half an hour until school started. I stood up and quickly got dressed, and then saw my game sitting on my bed. The front of it was blank again. No, no did I make a wrong choice? Did I end up dying? Did, Snow end up dying? The thought of that made me stop and put my hands over my face. “I can’t think about it now, I can’t. I have school.” I told myself and gathered my things and headed out. I would try to go in as soon as I got home and check to see exactly what happened. The temptation to skip school was there, but I couldn’t bring myself to do that either. Snow would have wanted me to not get behind, and I knew that. He would have waited for me. I hoped he didn’t end up dying in there. And I still had so many questions. I ended up getting to class a few minutes early and sat down next to Tara.

“Hey, are you alright?” She asked. I smiled at her.

“Yeah I’m fine.” I said. She shook her head.

“No, you’re not fine. I can see it all over your face. What happened?” She asked.

“It’s nothing really, I promise, don’t worry about me.” I assured her. I was still worried and a bit upset about Snow, but I didn’t understand why. I get it that it was an immersive game, but, it doesn’t feel like just a game sometimes. I got really attached to Snow even though it had only been the weekend.

“Well, if you want to talk about it just let me…” She trailed off and I blinked.

“Let you, know? Hey Tara, you look like you just saw a-” I looked at where she was looking and my eyes widened. “…ghost.” In front of the class stood Mr. Wilder standing next to a boy.

“Class, we have a new student. Please make him feel welcome.” He said. The boy smiled.

“My name is Skyler Kresnik, but you can call me Sky.” The boy said and we locked eyes for a moment. He had beautiful white hair that was in a ponytail. It looked like it went to his mid back. He was absolutely beautiful, and strikingly similar to Snow.

“You can take the empty space in front of Candice.” Mr. Wilder motioned toward me and Snow nodded and sat down in front of me. I looked over at Tara and she mouthed to me.

“He’s gorgeous!” I nodded in agreement. “Snow?” I shrugged my shoulders and she whispered softly. “Was he a model for him?!”

“I don’t know.” I whispered back. “But, wow…”

“Hi, you must be Candice.” I jumped and looked forward and saw Skyler looking at me with a warm facial expression. “Sky.” He held out his hand and I carefully shook it.

“H-Hi.” I squeaked out.

“It’s nice to meet you.” He smiled.

“Same, to you.” I said. Why was he even talking to me? There are plenty of beautiful girls he could be paying attention to and he was conversing with me?! My cheeks heated up and Mr. Wilder saved me by starting class and Skyler turned back around to listen. I looked at Tara again and we resumed our silent conversation.

“Tara oh my god he is perfect.”

“Yes, and he’s liking you.” She winked and I shook my head fast and went back to my notes. I tried to focus on that but I always ended up studying the back of Skyler’s head and thinking about Snow, even though I knew Snow wasn’t real, this Skyler was pretty close. The bell rang and Skyler turned and tossed a folded note on my desk, and walked out.
