Welcome to Alagaesia: The New Age!

This is a world based off of the series the Inheritance Cycle.
This is a summary of Eragon.
The chapter summaries I think you should read are: Discovery, Awakening, Tea for Two, A Rider's Blade, Revelation at Yazuac, Through a Dragon's eye, Vision of Perfection, and The Glory of Tronjheim.

Brom once said that we don't know how many dragons survived Galbatorix's slaughter of dragons. We also don't know how many dragon eggs are left. There were the three Galbatrix had but what if there were other eggs that were hidden and escaped the slaughter?

You can be with the Empire or the Varden.

In this world you make a character, and they find a dragon egg. Join in the adventure by filling out this form and pming me:

Lost

"I am Ari. We are going to have to stay here for a few weeks until Ruby has grown and I have found the ore I have come here for. I must go now. I shall bring us food after I'm done looking for the ore, until then, please try to get to know Ruby and observe your hand." she said, then headed back towards the town.

I frowned. My hand? I glanced down and on my right hand was a symbol, kind of like an "e" It didn't hurt, and I wondered how long it had been there before now.

Now off to the first task, getting to know Ruby. She was sitting in front of me, staring at me with her big eyes. "So, Ruby. Are you hungry?" i asked her and she nodded her head. "What do dragons eat?" I wondered aloud.

Ruby's head jerked up as if she heard something and she bolted out of the cave. "Ruby, no!" I called. Ari had wanted us to stay put for a reason. But, I couldn't very well just leave Ruby run off alone.

I took off after her and followed her deep into the forest. She found a little hole, looked like a rabit hole and dug her way inside. I heard little squeals before Ruby came out with three rabbits in her mouth. She broke their neck and started eating them one by one.

I tried not to gag as I watched her eat them. I shuttered. Looking around, I tried to make sense of where we were. "Come on Ruby, we have to get back. I don't like being out here without Ari," I said once she had finished eating.

I lead us back through which we had come and I noticed a small stream off to the right. I searched through my bag for a canteen that I had been smart enough to bring along. Calling Ruby to follow, we headed down to the bank. I figured we would need water, so I waded into the middle and filled the canteen.

Ruby lapped at the water as I washed my face, trying to clean the dried blood from my cheek and lip. Glancing at my reflection, I hardly recognized myself. I was such a bloody, bruisey mess. My face was so swolen that it hurt to smile.

"Come on, Ruby," I sighed as I got up and headed back to the cave, which wasn't as easy to find as I would have thought. I felt as though we were walking in circles.

I finally just stopped and and sat at the base of the tree. Ari would come and find us, I hoped. Ruby came and curled up in my lap. I talked to her and asked her questions. I did what Ari wanted me to do, get to know my dragon.

Heading back out

"You're an elf?" The girl asked, ignoring my question.I watched her reactions. She seemed exited and stared at me bug-eyed."I knew elves were real!" She exclaimed. "My master always told me that none of that was real. He sheltered me from everyone else; he made it so that I couldn't come in contact with anyone. But deep down, I knew!" she ranted on. I nodded.

"Your name?" I pressed.

"Oh, right,"She shook her head. "I'm Kia."

"I am Ari. We are going to have to stay here for a few weeks until Ruby has grown and I have found the ore I have come here for. I must go now. I shall bring us food after I'm done looking for the ore, until then, please try to get to know Ruby and observe your hand." I said, then headed back towards the town.

Introductions

The woman pulled her hood down, showing off her obviously elven ears. "You're an elf?" I asked, openly staring.

She didn't say anything, just watched my reaction closely.

I felt bad for staring, but I had only ever seen humans such as me. My masters wouldn't let me leave the farm and I was not allowed to talk to any of the workers there unless he told me I was permited to.

"I knew elves were real!" I exclaimed. "My master always told me that none of that was real. He sheltered me from everyone else; he made it so that I couldn't come in contact with anyone. But deep down, I knew!"

She merely nodded, "Your name?" she asked me.

"Oh, right," I shook my head. "I'm Kia."

Name

I watched as the baby dragon poked its head out of the egg. It was amazing! A beautiful red dragon emerged from the egg.

"You're like a little ruby," she said. She seemed overly excited. The dragon was nodding its head. I could easily talk to it but I would not dare invade any dragon's privacy."So, you like that name do you? Okay then, Ruby it is!" the girl smiled.

"Shh," I told her."There are people out looking for you." She set Ruby down.

"Who is it?" she asked.

"One of them being the man you live with," I told her, keeping look out. I was more worried about the Ra'zac finding us. If the empire knew there was a dragon still alive, he'd be at our heels until he catches us, and we're in his territory!

"Not any more," She shook her head. I heard the Ra'zac. I pushed the girl into the shadows. The Ra'zac entered the cave and walked towards us. I opened my flask of water. 'Adurna' I thought. The water flew out of the flask and headed towards the Ra'zac. It temporarily distracted them. I unsheathed my sword and attacked them, cutting their ugly bird-like heads clean off.

"Hurry! Follow me!" I called to the girl. She grabbed Ruby and followed me as I ran quickly out of the cave though she had a little trouble keeping up. I stopped at a familiar cave, I had once gotten ore from here. I headed inside with the others. The girl looked like she was bursting with questions. I sighed.

"I'll answer what I can in a few minutes. First, Shur'tugal, please tell me your name." I told her. I took off my hood,no one other than her was in the area so I had no fear of anyone being able to see my ears, and waited for her answer.

Hatching!

"Hurry. The man you live with is coming after you, he is close by," the same woman from the day before told me as she knelt at my side.

She closed her eyes, as if she was sensing something. Suddenly, she grabbed my arm and rushed through the forest, pulling me behind her. We came to a small cave and she led me inside.

I heard cracking coming from the rock in my arms. I looked and there was a small crack on the rock's outerlayer. So it wasn't a rock at all, but an egg, and it was hatching! A smile touched my lips as I sat down and held the shell on top of my crossed legs. The woman stood watch over me.

Ever so slowly, the creature that was inside pushed its head out of an opening, cracking the egg down the side. I helped tear the shell from the little creature. There sitting in my lap was a dragon. A dragon! No one would ever believe me. I was holding a dragon! I had been told there was no left.

I wanted to squeal in delight, but I controlled myself. The little dragon was so cute. It had the most unique red shades lining its body. "You're like a little ruby," I noted.

The dragon bounced its head up and down in joy. "So, you like that name do you? Ok then, Ruby it is!"

"Shh," the woman ordered. "There are people out looking for you."

I set the dragon down and stood by the woman's side. "Who is it?"

"One of them being the man you live with," she answered, her eyes never leaving the mouth of the cave.

"Not any more," I shook my head.

There was a noise at the mouth of the cave. The woman grabbed me and pressed me into the shadows, all I could do was wait. Wait for the woman to make the next move, as I had no idea what I was doing, and she clearly did. I put all my trust in this stranger.
