Welcome to my world.

I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.

And I work for this site.

And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).

Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.

If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

People not following rules . . . grr . . .

First night back from house-sitting. My clothes will smell less like beagle now. Anyway, turns out I didn't break my brother's computer after all - it was already broken and I just didn't know the trick to making it work again (in this case, unplugging the keyboard, re-plugging, then "pressing F1 to continue"). So yeah, just as they got home I deleted Live Messenger and Firefox to hide the evidence and whatnot - all is well on their end now.

So . . . heck, a lotta people still aren't quite getting how Fan Word submissions work. I'm still getting a lot of single-chapters to stories, tons of personal blogs - the other night I even PMed two specific repeat-offenders to ask them to stop . . . I still think the system's a good one, but we just need to get more education out there. I mean, I'd hate to think I'll at some point in time I'll hafta write up an all-purpose PM of "You're doin' it wrong, read the rules!" to send out to people every time they don't do this right - mostly I just don't wanna hafta send out so many PMs every day. So I dunno, we'll see . . .

Other than that, I need this:

('Cause I got a Shinsengumi Rock Band party comin' up next weekend!)

Just poppin' in . . .

Since Des' asked: in the past, the dog has pooped in the hallway and outside my stepdad's office. So I'm wary of his barks now. Thus far we've kept it outside on the lawn like he's supposed to, though, so yay.

Today's the last day of house/dog-sitting for my brother. This is good, 'cause I crapped out his computer the other night. Now, technically it's totally not my fault that the Primary Slave drive is dying now and I can't really reboot anymore . . . honestly, I had a feeling that he probably had a ton of spyware on the machine as well, so y'know . . . still, though, it sucks to have these sorts of things happen on your watch.

Over the past week I watched all of Gunbuster and Gunbuster 2. Great shows, loved 'em both. OP to Gunbuster 2's stuck in my head now. I'm also totally stoked that I didn't have to buy these DVDs (thanks again Gail!), 'cause well . . . y'know, Bandai Visual-type prices and content and all . . . still, excellent series.

The Shinsengumi are all over theOtaku now and that excites me. We've got Schultzie's Shinsengumi HQ on one end with all kinds of fun potential and I can't wait to flood that badboy with all kinds of Bakumatsu goodness. On the other end, we have the OSCgumi, the Vancouver Shinsengumi Cosplay Group, who I convinced to set up a World here at theO - that one's gonn' be fun to mess around with as well . . . I mean, we freakin' have business cards and postcards in the work now!

What else, what else . . . a couple nights ago a bunch of theO staff had a Skype meeting. That was fairly productive and mostly fun. I imagine it'll get more productive with a couple more computer mics, though. So it's all good. 'Cause really, any chance to re-promote "World War Z" to people is always good.

"C.H.U.D." is an amazingly bad movie that I'm glad I watched.

That is all.

So far so good . . .

House is doing fine, I stocked up on some foodstuffs when I went home for dinner last night . . . and the dog hasn't pooped on anything he isn't supposed to poop on yet.

So yay.

I'm exhausted now, though. Which is retarded, 'cause literally all I did yesterday was chat online, go for a walk, and drive home for dinner.

Ah well . . . on the plus side, we have a brand new "Shinsengumi" World at theO as well as definite interest for creating an account/world for the Vancouver Shinsengumi Cosplay Group. So I'm excited.

If only registering new accounts wasn't slightly broken right now . . . hmm . . .

Today'll be fun, though. Things to do . . .

House Sitting Time!

The aniki's goin' on vacation somewhere where he doesn't know (his girlfriend set it up). In any case, they needed someone to mind their house and their dog.

So I'll be living in my brother's house for the next few days. He's got internet so I'll still be able to keep up with my work here (which I'm slacking on), and . . . I'll probably just be doing a lot of that, trying my best to make sure the dog doesn't crap on the floors or anything . . . yeah, should be fun.

In other news, I think my [email protected] e-mail's been conked out all week. This could prove disastrous if people from Sakura-Con actually tried to contact me this week. Eep.

Other than that, I had a nice little meeting with 9 of the other Shinsengumi cosplay people yesterday. Lunch, traded photos and epic marching music (got that filed away online somewhere . . . bwahaha), and just planned for the future in general.

They all loved the "Shinsengumi At Sakura-Con" write-up, too, so yay!

In general, we just talked about needing more wakizashi, acquiring one or two wooden naginata, how many more haori we need to make, future cons we wanna hit . . . yeah, we're turning into something monstrous.

We need to make a Shinsengumi World here . . . I need to get one of them to get an account here . . .

Whatever.

That's all for now. See ya next time from my brother's place!

Who wants to see me getting killed?

"Konme" of our Shinsengumi group put up a video of us dicking around that second night of Sakura-Con:

I totally love it.

Anyway, I've got one video I just need to finish off and the upload; still have a couple things I need to write as well.

And now, seems I've gotta redo my Shinsengumi brief history thing as well for posterity's sake - and y'know, I'm fine with that.

Anyway, tonight my kung-fu club's got an anniversary dinner or something, I think - 11 lions! So yeah, I might not be online tonight much either - sorry guys! I know I've been neglecting you all!
