I have heard good things about Gunbuster, just no idea what it's actually about. But, if it's from Bandai, I'd probably like it.

Hahah, I don't think I quite realized just how big of a Shinsengumi fan you were, James. Good for you! At least you only ever have to do one cosplay to be happy. :P
Gunbuster+Diebuster are one of the best shows I've ever ... EVER seen ... lol makes me shed a tear every time I watch the endings just because they're so beautiful.
You make me want to rewatch Gunbuster (both of 'em). ^^ I love how they tie together, and the ending of the first OVA series still has to be one of the most epic final scenes in any anime. Hot-blooded robot action, banzai!
