Hush, Love, Don't cry,
It'll be alright,
Hold me close,
As I administer the dose,
Listen to my lullaby of lies.

So, I have lots of good news!! First off, I found out yesterday that they're KEEPING ME ON in Housekeeping!! I'll only be working 12 hours for them, though. But then I get 3 more hours a week from tutoring my friend in Art History. My supervisor gave me my official Housekeeping shirts this afternoon.

Secondly, my co-worker, Andrea, has a total of 11 newborn kittens at her house. 5 belong to Ms. Grey (1 1/2 years old) and the other 6 belong to Grey's mother, Speed Bump. Grey gave birth on August 13th, outside, and we found the litter 2 days later and brought them in. Speed gave birth yesterday, inside, and had 7, but 1 was stillborn. The kittens are soooo tiny and soooo adorable!! >w< I want to cuddle them all, but the mommy cats don't like their babies to be touched...

Okay, third news piece, I have my Rosiel outfit finished!! I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet, though. I will probably do so on the 29, when I have time to put on the make-up and all. And I should have my contacts in by then! Mom says the contacts should be in by tomorrow...

Fourth happy tidbit, everyone's starting to move back to campus!! So all my friends are returning. I'm not so lonely any more!! It's a good life...

As you can see, I've been in quite high spirits as of late.

Alrighty, then! Since classes start on the 25th, here's my schedule:

Mondays & Wednesdays

  • Rythmic Activities & Lead-Up Games: 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm
  • Ceramics II: 1:00 pm to 1:50 pm (will also be on Fridays at this time)
  • 2-D Studio I: 2:00 pm to 2:50 pm

Tuesdays & Thursdays

  • Ed & Growth of the American Republic: 9:30 am to 10:45 am
  • Art History I: 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm
  • Principles of Learning & Teaching: 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, I'll also be working for Housekeeping from 6 am to no later than 11 am. And at some point during the week, I'll tutor my friend for 3 hours. The 3 hours won't all be on the same day, most likely...

Well, that's all for now!! Stay classy, Otakuites!

So, it's been a while since I've posted. I've been busy working with Housekeeping here on campus. I get up every morning (Monday-Friday) at 5:30 so I can go in at 6:00. I work until 2:30 in the afternoon. I usually don't go to bed until after 10:00 because I wait up for Daku to call me. This week, I've been waking up every morning with a sore throat and I can't shake that feeling of exhaustion. I spent Wednesday night with my Sako-nee (off campus) because it was storming and there was a chance of hail. At the moment, I'm the only one in my dorm building and I don't handle storms very well when I'm alone...Anyways, today I woke up at 5:30, had the sore throat, and felt completely drained of energy, so I called my supervisor and told her I wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be coming in today. I then went back to sleep until about 8:30. I tried going back to sleep then, but I couldn't, so I got up for the day. My sore throat went away, but I'm still exhausted...

Daku left Nebraska yesterday. He stopped in Kansas to visit his friend (the one that will be joining soon to guest post in my cosplay world) for today. He'll be leaving Kansas early tomorrow morning and I'll be going to his house to spend the rest of the weekend with him. I'm so excited!! It's been a long and lonely summer without him, but I'm proud of him for doing the research internship.

I've been slacking on drawing and writing fan fiction lately, largely due to the job...I need to draw at least two more pictures to sell as prints at A2F V!! And I need to add another chapter to my "Kingdom Hearts" fic, as well as finish my "Labyrinth" fic...And I need to finish reading Christopher Paolini's "Eldest" and Anne Rice's "The Tale of the Body Theif". At least I got that book read for my Education and Growth class...I'll have to read it again during the semester, but I read it before classes started so I would be able to understand it better...The guy who wrote it is really wordy, much like J. R. R. Tolkien...

Well, not much else going on. Classes start on August 25, so I'll be getting back into the grind of schoolwork then. Until then, I'll be working with Housekeeping. I hope I can keep that job when classes start. Of course, my hours will change to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. I'll also be tutoring my friend, Lissa, in Art History. We'll have that class together.

Stay classy, Otakuites!

I have no time to post right now...I just want to let you all know that I won't be around for a while. It may be just this week, or it could end up being the next 3 weeks. It depends on how this Maymester thing goes...Right now we have a ton of stuff to do, like lesson plans, since we're teaching. But our professors say that after this week, things will slow down. Last night, Sunday, SUCKED!!! I got back to the school from Daku's house at 3:30 pm, and Daku and his friend Dan helped me move out of my old room and into my new one. They also ate dinner with us. Me, Daku, and Dan were all late, of course...It took almost 2 hours to move out of my old room! It took far less time to move into this one...Yeah...So last night, I just wanted to sleep...Tonight, I decided I'd check things...

So, this is just to let you guys know that I still love you all, and I'm taking quick peeks when I can, but I won't be commenting. So don't worry! I'll be back soon!

Stay classy, Otakuites!

So, things are starting to get pretty hectic. I had a stressful weekend this past weekend. Something happened that was beyond my control, and it really pissed me off and made me worried sick at the same time. It's a horrible feeling to have...If I could've prevented the event from happening, believe me, I would have! Unfortunately, I couldn't. Of course, everything has been worked out, and things are much better now.

The end of the semester is drawing near, which means that I'm going to have to write several papers and do some projects. Then of course, Finals Week...You know what? Let's just not go there...Anyways, I've got Sophomore Review to deal with on April 17th. It's something all the art majors have to go through here at the good ol' U of O...

My Education advisor has thrown out another option to me to help broaden my career choices: Preschool-8th grade certification. Right now, I'm working on an Art major and a Secondary Education major, and with the Secondary Ed major, she told me it would be VERY easy to get P-8 certification. Basically, I think I'll only have to take one more class than I would have...Unfortunately, that class is a State History class...I'm going to talk to that advisor on Wednesday at noon about this option. Both Daku and I believe it would be a very good idea. I probably need to run it by my parents, too.

Then after this semester is over, I'll get to jump right in to Maymester! That's pretty much just a bunch of Education classes rolled into one 3-week-long journey of learning...So I won't really get a break until June 5th. Of course, then I'll be starting a summer Work-Study job. Hopefully, I'll be working at the local special-needs preschool. I'm going to talk to the director Thursday...I really hope I get that position! I'm currently observing there, and I absolutely adore the 4-5 year olds! It's a dream job...See, back in 6th grade, I began working with the 3-6 year olds' Children's Church class at my church, and since then, I've gained a ton of experience working with children. I consider myself an amateur babysitter, as I've babysat many children during that period. So, yeah, that would be a dream job for me.

And May 30th or 31st, Daku will be leaving for Lincoln, Nebraska. He's doing a summer internship at UNL for 2 months...That's part of the reason I want to stay here over the summer. I couldn't stand living back at home with my parents during that time...I'd go absolutely nuts!! Not that I'm not already a bit insane anyways...But yeah, the summer Work-Study will help me make it through. I'm also considering doing an online course at a local Tech college. That'll help me be able to graduate in the next 4 semesters...

Well, I guess that's it...Stay classy, Otakuites!
