Jessie and Shauntae had become great friends, now once again Jessie had someone to walk home with her, but still it wasn't the same(friends and boyfriends/girlfriends are quite different). His seat had been taken, but his spot in her heart had not. She missed him greatly and there was nothing she could think to do to get him back. He was gone, so she thought. Her mind told her to move on, but her heart said no.
Shauntae had heard nothing about who Jeff was and assumed that he was just some runaway that happened to have a close relationship to Jessie. She dared not to ask Jessie about it because she didn't want to force Jessie into talking on a sore-subject. She had a dark spot in her eyes, a cold emptiness in her soul that Shauntae could plainly see. Whoever Jeff was, he was very important to Jessie.
