When John woke up he found himself lying in some cave on the hard, rocky ground. He got up and surveyed the area to see if he knew where he was, which he didn't. But as he was looking around he did notice that there was a sword embedded in a large rock. He pulled once to no avail, but the second time that he pulled the blade came free from the stone and the stone weathered away as though it had undergone thousands of years of breaking down in just one instant. It glowed a bright reddish coloras he held it, as though it were a great luster of fire in his hands. He set it down partially at an angle, for light to hit it and hopefully to direct him to an exit,but when the tip of the blade touched the ground, it melted through the stone.
As he walked through the cave he decided to think of a fake name, just in case he needed to talk to anyone. He called himself Joseph Herrick, it seemed suiteble to him, plus it started the same as his real name and would be more easily remembered. He eventually got tired of walking around a cave that very well may not have had an exit at all....So he made one.
