Welcome to my world.

I'm SomeGuy, 29 years old, residing in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I've studied English Literature, Chinese Martial Arts, and am currently pursuing careers in writing - possibly even in the anime industry itself.

And I work for this site.

And you should be watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.
Or watching Ranma 1/2.
Or learning about the Shinsengumi.
Or planning to visit Vancouver, The Best Place On Earth (actual marketing motto).

Here at the "Smallville" page, I have my personal blog where I'll post about anything and everything. If ya need me or otherwise need to know anything from/about me, here's where I'll be.

If you're really looking for my more professional, site-type stuff, you wanna head over my "Metropolis" world.

Ohhhh Winnipeg . . .

So, apparently that 10 year old girl that covered Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" on YouTube is from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Go fig'.

Not gonna lie, this whole Maria Aragon story is kinda blowing my mind. Girl uploads a cover of herself singing a very, very new song. Within the day the pop song's singer finds it, retweets it, and suddenly in the span of 24 hours the girl is now a YouTube celebrity.

Another 24 hours, she's on radio shows talking about it, singing a little, and then having call-in conversations with said singer. Singer in turn invites her to come sing with her in Toronto when she tours there.

Shortly after, girl is also invited onto Ellen to chat and sing some more.

And then about a week or so after Ellen, girl is in Toronto in what may or may not be the country's largest arena, sitting on the lap of the singer in front of a piano, singing the song.

Of course, singer is totally in love with her ascended fangirl and pulls her out for another encore later in the night. And Toronto goes apeshit for her.

All in the span of about a month.

Such is the power of YouTube. And a 10 year old Filipina from Winnipeg with some serious pipes. Good on ya, girl.

Academy Duello Demonstration, Battle Tournament Failure

I got some videos up. Also, I hate that I still haven't quite mastered uploading WIDESCREEN videos to YouTube correctly . . . ahh, one day . . . .

General Demonstration:

The Grand Melee:

Freakin' love these guys . . . anyway, we'll see how long it takes for me to do a complete con review, hey?

In other news . . . The Shinsengumi got owned in the FF Battle Tournament. In the first round. By Team Rocket.

But Team Rocket went on to win the whole thing, so what can you do? Oh! I know what I can do! I can show off the video! I'm the one with red hair . . .

Gotta love lightsabers . . . and gigantic firing squads . . .

YouTube Links from VGCats

The new VGCats comic is pretty good.

Scott also happened to link to like, a million different links to different stuff on his news page, especially a lot of video links. And, seeing as we can only show off one YouTube per post, I had to decide which one got the embed and which just got the link.

It was down to either Caramelldansen on piano, or some silly Mario Bros. song . . .

Hard decision, honestly . . . but, alas. So first off: Caramelldansen on piano!

And second:

Ah, KY . . . good times. Other than that, this house has GTA4. I really need not elaborate on that one, I think.

EDIT: Oh snap, Adam's playing around with the site right now! It's 3:45pm, and the site's dancing around drastically in terms of format and changes.

I think I'll let him finish before I finish off my theO stuff . . .

More YouTube Hilarity . . .

The other OSCgumi people got their revenge on me with a 7 second video of me playing cowbell. Personally, I'm just sad there wasn't more . . . but alas.

In other news, my "Houki Boshi on Mario Paint" video is OVER 9000 VIEWS.

That is all. All y'all have a good Tuesday, now.
