Hello, everyone!

You have reached the rambling, the fangirling, and the general chill-pad of theOtaku's NightBeck, a.k.a Becky, a.k.a Crimson Lotus the Irish Ninja.

... okay, maybe not the last one. But people will be calling me that one day.

This is your place to chill, talk about life and fandom, and be generally crazy. So go on. Play nice, be good to each other, don't make me hurt you.

My favorite series: Princess Tutu, Ookiku Furikabutte, Mushishi, xxxHOLiC, Monster, Black Lagoon, Ergo Proxy, Escaflowne, and Baccano!

A study abroad word problem.

So here's the thing: literally the last things that still had to be sent in for the CIEE Tokyo application were my teacher recommendations. Sekino-sensei told me last Wednesday that she planned to send my recommendation on that Thursday, probably by regular post. Fraleigh gave me his on Friday, and I sent it myself by expedited post. I'm in Waltham (eastern Massachusetts), and CIEE headquarters is in Portland (centralish Maine), which is a rather short distance.

Well, this morning, according to my online account, one of the recs made it there: Fraleigh's. Which does make sense, since I sent Fraleigh's by priority mail, but... it's also Tuesday, and it shouldn't have taken more than two days to send.

I need to allow some time for backup at CIEE with the deadline coming up, and a little more time for the post office being a bit slow. But how much time should I allow before making sure Sekino-sensei really did send it on Thursday and didn't forget.

(This message brought to you by the fact that I'll get my acceptance/rejection a week after all the materials are in, and this is literally the last thing holding me up. GAH.)

I can make short posts, too.

I am a conquistador. That is all I have to say.

The former is awesome so far because durr, Kon Satoshi. And the latter is very interesting so far, and Masayuki owns, so I will definitely keep watching.

Also, taking a rain check for my Bloc post tonight - my schedule is seriously soul-crushing this week. But I was the last person to post there anyway, so consider this my saved vacation days in action.

Later, y'all~

Well, that was a first.

So I was going to make an entry here about moving in, and the new room, and seeing my roommates and Tanya again and such... But then this morning, we had three paramedics, two campus police officers, one police sergeant, and one onlooker in...

Oh sweet holy electricity, how I missed you.

*lies under an AC vent and never comes out* After I made that post yesterday, a front of really crappy weather came in, so the electric crews had to stop working. (And for good reason - a tornado touched down not too far from here. Eep.) So...
