A study abroad word problem.

So here's the thing: literally the last things that still had to be sent in for the CIEE Tokyo application were my teacher recommendations. Sekino-sensei told me last Wednesday that she planned to send my recommendation on that Thursday, probably by regular post. Fraleigh gave me his on Friday, and I sent it myself by expedited post. I'm in Waltham (eastern Massachusetts), and CIEE headquarters is in Portland (centralish Maine), which is a rather short distance.

Well, this morning, according to my online account, one of the recs made it there: Fraleigh's. Which does make sense, since I sent Fraleigh's by priority mail, but... it's also Tuesday, and it shouldn't have taken more than two days to send.

I need to allow some time for backup at CIEE with the deadline coming up, and a little more time for the post office being a bit slow. But how much time should I allow before making sure Sekino-sensei really did send it on Thursday and didn't forget.

(This message brought to you by the fact that I'll get my acceptance/rejection a week after all the materials are in, and this is literally the last thing holding me up. GAH.)
