Chapter 9: The Letters

I stood there speechless I didn’t know what to say. “Rain?” Ken said a bit worried.

“Yes.” I smiled up at him, “Yes, I’ll go out with you.” I said happily and he picked me up and spun me around.

We were both smiling and laughing. After he let me down He wrapped his arms around my waist and leaned down and kissed me. I kissed him back. He held me close in his strong grasp as if he didn’t want to let me go.

“Awwwwwwwwwwwww. I knew you could do it Ken~” Rosa said and we quickly broke apart from each other and blushed.

“Rosa, come on now let them have their space.” Leigh smiled at us. Just how long were they standing there?

“How long have you two been there?” Ken asked them.

“Long enough to here Rain say yes.” Rosa chimed in. “I’m so happy for you two. You make a cute couple.” She added.

“Thank you.” I smiled happily and hugged Ken tightly.

“Now come on love birds and help us finish cleaning.” Rosa said and her and Leigh continued to clean.

Kentin and I continued cleaning in the living room and with the four of us cleaning we got it done in about a half an hour. Rosa and Leigh said bye and some other embarrassing stuff before her and Leigh walked away.

I closed the door and it was just Ken and I left. Auntie was taking a shower so Ken and I went to my room. “Now to actually look at what I got.” I chirped skipping over to my bed. I liked everything that I got from everyone the things that I were interested in the most though were actually Ken’s letters. I’ve wanted to read them all day.

“So were you able to find the letters that I sent you?” I asked him as I moved most of my stuff over to my desk and pulled out the posters that I got.

“I did. They were next to my letters in my father’s desk. I don’t know why he did that, and I’m sorry if he was mean to you. He wanted me to focus on my studies there. But writing letters to you let me get my mind off of having a frustrating day.” He explained helping me put up my posters.

“Were you able to read my letters?” I asked after we finished putting the posters up.

“I have. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to be here to protect you.” He apologized.

“No it’s alright really, you’re here now so that’s what matters.” I smiled at him and sat down on my bed with the first rubber back of six letters.

Ken sat down next to me on the bed. I opened up the first letter in the stack and started reading it.

Dear Rain,

I started my first day of classes here. The actual classes aren’t that bad it’s your normal history, English, Math, but then I also have to take a tatics class. That’s a bit strange since I don’t really know that much about the military. I feel waking up at five in the morning to run drills is going to get old fast and the three mile runs are kicking me in the rear, but I’m sure I’ll get better. I have decent roommates. They pick on me when I sit down to try to write. Luckily they don’t know that I’m writing to you. I think they are assuming that I’m writing to my parents. But I talk to them over the phone so I don’t really see a point in sending them a letter.

But how have you been? I hope that everything is going alright for you. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to stay long with you at Sweet Amoris. I miss being able to talk to you every day. Hopefully I can come home in a year if I keep my grades up! That’s always exciting to I hope you are making new friends. I have to go now.

Love,
Ken

I looked up at him after I finished the letter and smiled. “I was kind of cheese with that letter.” He commented as he read over my shoulder.

I kissed his cheek and went to the next letter. As I kept reading the letters Ken was always saying how cheese he was in some of them. Then I got to the letter that was on my birthday when I opened up the letter a picture fell out. When I picked it up it made me smile. It was with some of Ken’s room mates two of his room mates hold him in place and the third lifting up his shirt to show his abs starting to form.

“Oh god. I didn’t realize they actually snuck that into my letter.” Ken blushed.

“What happened?” I asked smiling at the picture.

“My roommates found out I was writing to you and I told them it was your birthday coming up but I didn’t know what to do and then this picture was their conclusion. I told them I wasn’t going to send it to you and I guess when I went out they were able to stick it in the letter with out me noticing.” He explained his blush not going away as he explained.

“Well I like it.” I said setting the letter to the side and going over to my desk and grabbing a piece of double sided tape and then putting the picture up on my wall with all my other pictures that I’ve collected through out the years. “There, perfect.” I smiled happily. I grabbed my camera and came back to the bed.

“What are you doing?” He asked confused.

“We’re going to take a picture so you can send it to them.” I stated and sat down next to him.

“Why do we have to take a picture?” He asked a bit confused.

“You were never able to show them a picture while you were there were you?” I asked turning on my camera.

“Well no. I didn’t bring anything with me to be able to show them a picture of you.” He answered.

“So send it to your friend there and make them jealous.” I kissed his cheek and then got close to him. “It will be fun.” I held the camera out and clicked the picture. I went to preview to look at the picture. “It looks good.” I smiled at him.

“It not too bad for the first time doing that.” He agreed looking at the picture.

“Did they know that we were just friends?” I asked as I got up and turning on my laptop.

“They got it out of me and they kept teasing that they would come and steal you away.” He answered.

“It would be nice to meet your friends from military school some time.” I stated. “They sound like they would be fun to hang out with.” I pulled the memory card out of my camera and stuck it into the card slot on my laptop and brought up the pictures before getting some 4x6 photo paper.

“You don’t have to print it out now.” Ken told me.

“I have other photo’s that I need to print out to put on my wall and it’s not hard to set that up.” I said.

It was quiet between us for a few minuets as I concentrated on picking the pictures I wanted to print out and getting everything ready to print. Once I got it to start printing I went back over to the bed and cleaned up the letters and put them back on my desk next to my laptop.

“You’re not going to read the letter?” He asked looking at me confused.

“I can read it later. Right now I want to spend a little time just relaxing with you.” I told him before kissing him lightly on the lips and quickly pulling away.

“You’re teasing me.” He smirked.

“No why would I do that?” I said looking at him innocently.

He just smirked and kisses me. I kissed him back as he lightly pushed me down so I was laying down on the bed.
