So...Preston Cleric (Christian Bale) is supposed to be the best of the Grammorton Clerics (You have to look it up on like YouTube or something because the fight scenes are awesome) and he accidentally missed a dose of the Prozium, and hid the fact that he was feeling from his family and The Father.
But after his new partner (Tay Diggs) began to investigate him after a string of unexplained routines, he tries to show The Father that Preston is a Sense-Offender (Sense offense is feeling. It's against the laws of the Clerics). But Preston hid it again, and he fell in love with one of the prisoners because she reminded him of his dead wife...But she (The prisoner AND his wife) were sentenced to death, and that's when his partner caught him red-handed.
So in the end, Preston basically exterminates the Clerics, including The Father and leads the rebellion against the corrupt utopia that Father created. I think he died at the end, but the last scene was misleading.
It's not really a "Sci-Fi" movie. But it's about the future where an association called the Grammorton Clerics who were under the lead of The Father. His philosophy was that the reason for all the worlds' problems like war, murder, death, etc. was human emotion.
So he united the people to surpress their ability to feel with a drug called Prozium, and it made the Clerics like superhuman. And the object was to hunt down the rebels who kept relics like art, music, literature, anything that would create emotion in a person. It's like the Matrix, but way better. It's rather old (And my Dad gave it away) but if you want I'll tell you the end.
