iv. The True Origin of Darkwing Duck
[Paraducks, Clash Reunion, and A Star is Scorned]
Back in Drake Mallard's elementary school or prehigh school days, he meets his time-traveling adult self, Darkwing Duck. Darkwing took down the King of Crime with the help from his younger self and Gosalyn. His younger self came up with the catchphrases, "I am the toddler who naps in the night! I am Dark--" Of course, he personally forgot meeting himself in the past. After all he only remembers the highlights in his life or more or less focused only on the headlines of his superhero career in his later years.
To talk more about the Darkwing of the here and now: Darkwing has been an active superhero for a reasonable amount of unknown years. In the episode, "Darkly Dawns the Duck, Part 2" he mentions that he has no life outside the Darkwing Duck lifestyle and no friends to share his life with or to turn to, but Launchpad McQuack and Gosalyn Waddlemeyer, his 9-year-old adopted duaghter, changed his life around and so now he's got a life, and friends to keep his feet on the ground.
He has two catchphrases that keep recurring and they are, "I am the terror that flaps in the night", followed by an improvised metaphor that come before he gives his name, and his before action battlecry "Let's get dangerous".
In Drake Mallard's high school years, getting close to graduation, MegaVolt made his appearance at senior's prom. Drake Mallard didn't have a costume at the time, but he sure was going to get one, that day at prom. It was from the school's costume storage and a temporary outfit appearance. He had to come up with his catchphrases and his name. (This was in the episode "Clash Reunion".)
Back to the Darkwing of the here and now: This is his high school reunion and MegaVolt strikes again! The showdown was going to go like someone's deja vu, mainly Megavolt's deja vu, but it just didn't go the same way as Darkwing's debut, some years before. If that so happened back at prom, Darkwing wouldn't have been Darkwing. Megavolt accidently ripes Darkwing's mask off revealing that he was just Drake. The three of them just laughed at him; Megavolt, Ham, and Ham's wife. He did after all mesmerize them and made them forget, but Megavolt has screws loose and already forgot Darkwing's secret identity.
