Jenny led the way out of the safe room. Chero grabbed onto Kiki and made her walk alongside Chero as Jenny walked ahead, “Listen…Kiki…Are you alright?”
“Huh? Of course I am! There is nothing wrong with me.” Kiki exclaimed.
“I see…”
“Anyways, Can you please do something about Jenny? She won’t talk to me. What happened?”
“I’ll try talking to her…But…Kiki…please try not to use too much of your watch’s power…ok?”
“Huh? Where did that come from? I have no idea what you are talking about, but I
will keep that in mind….” Kiki sighed.
“Thank you!” Chero smiled.
Jenny led the way into the annex, as everyone went down the stairs single file. Kiki picked up clock cogs as they went on their way.
“They were right. These are everywhere…How…did they get here?” Kiki asked
Jenny stopped when they reached what looked like an old library. Chero looked around.
“Hmm…You know? I really don’t know if we’ve never been here before, or if I’ve just forgotten about it…” Chero said.
“This can’t be the only place left to explore. I’ll go look in that other room…” Kiki said, leaving Chero alone with Kiki.
“Jenny…What do you have in mind?” Chero turned to her.
“Who me? Nothing at all!” Jenny insisted, “You’re the one who said we should work together--”
“Can I tell I tell you something…as your mother and over all senior?” Chero asked, “If you want to lie…At least make it sound convincing, or else people will see right through it, just like it happened to me.”
“Wh-what?! What are you talking about?” Jenny stuttered, “I’m not hiding anything. Just look at me. Do I look like I am lying?”
“…You know Jenny…”
“Yes? What is it?” Jenny asked.
“Maybe you should have learned how to smile a little more naturally…”
Jenny gasped and facepalmed, “To think that….you’d say that to me…I feel like I am getting a taste of my own medicine…But Chero I--”
Kiki walked back over to the pair, “I couldn’t find anything. Maybe there is a clue in one of these book shelves? Jenny, you look at the ones over there and--”
“Kiki.” Jenny interrupted, “I am growing in my magic powers…I am pretty confident in my skills…That is why I have been able to last this long…Right?”
“What?” Kiki questioned, wondering why Jenny was bringing this topic up.
“That is why I won’t accept it. Even though you were defeated….you saved Mocha and I and in the end…you died. If it’s up to me…I’d rather be the one doing the saving.”
Jenny grinned, “I’ll prove it to you! I’ll protect you this time!”
One of the monsters fell through the ceiling and landed in front of Jenny and Kiki. Chero screamed and covered her head. Jenny pushed Kiki back out of the way and turned to face the monster.
“Ow! Jenny! You—“
Jenny attacked the monster with her strongest attack. The attack did absolutely nothing.
“I-it didn’t work?!” she cried.
The monster rushed towards Jenny.
“Watch out!! What the hell are you doing, you idiot?!”
“SHIT!!” Jenny cried as the monster fell upon her.
“JENNY!!” Chero screamed.
