SS Gift- A Christmas Carol

Sasuke cursed and started to head back home. Lucky for him…it did not take long due to his ninja skillz. But he was still in his Pajamas and was rather cold when he finally did get home. He was tired and ready to sleep undisturbed. But…There was another guest in his room.

He sighed. Crouched in his windowsill was a man dressed in black. He had silver hair and a mask that covered his mouth and one of his eyes. He was reading an orange book, he looked up when he heard Sasuke come in. He waved.

“Let me guess…The Ghost of Christmas Future?” Sasuke groaned.

“Actually the Ghost of Christmas yet to come.”

“…Aren’t you going to tell me some silly name you would rather be called?”

“No. But if ‘Ghosts of Christmas yet to come’ is too long…I guess you could call
me Kakashi,” the spirit said, closing his book.

Sasuke turned around to leave, but Kakashi grabbed him by the collar and tossed him over his shoulder.

“Oh no. You have to sit through my whole speech just like you sat through the other ghost’s speeches,” Kakashi said.

Sasuke groaned as Kakashi carried him through the window. Kakashi stopped when they reached the graveyard.

“What are we doing here?” Sasuke asked as Kakashi dropped him.

“Just watch and observe for a while,” Kakashi said as he leaned against a
tombstone and continued to read.

Sasuke sighed and looked around. His eyes stopped when he saw Naruto standing over a grave sobbing. He held a small crutch in his hand.

“I’m sorry Jiraiya…I’m so sorry…”

Sasuke felt tears slip from his eyes. Why was he crying? That boy meant nothing to him. But yet…he was so like Sasuke was when he was small…and now he was gone. It was not fair he had to die.

“Don’t you think you should look at this tombstone?” Kakashi asked, pointing to the one he was leaning on.

Sasuke looked over. The tombstone looked very new and the hole was empty. He looked back at Kakashi.

“I don’t understand…”

“That poor guy. I hear it was three days before anyone discovered he was missing…” the gravedigger said, “And I was told to just bury him…No funeral for this guy. Being rich didn’t do much for ya did it?”

The gravedigger dropped a casket into the hole, “Now…to get my shovel…”

“Who is the poor sucker who died like that?” Sasuke snorted.

Kakashi pointed to the name on the Tombstone. Sasuke blinked. It said his name. But he was not old enough to die. Nor did he deserve to die like that.

“You’ll never change…” Kakashi sighed, patting Sasuke on the back.

“…”

Sasuke was patted a little too hard and fell forward into the pit.

“Whoops…Maybe I was too forceful…” Kakashi said, “Oh well.”

Sasuke fell and fell. He looked down and saw fire from Hell reaching for him.

“I can change!” Sasuke called, “I promise I can change. I’ll make it up to Naruto. I’ll save little Jiraiya. I don’t want to die like this.”

Sasuke woke with a start. He was back in his bed. A dream? He felt someone cooling his forehead with a wet washcloth. He looked over and saw the most beautiful angel. Her wings moved as if blown by some unknown wind. She had skin the color of sweet caramel and hair the color of dark chocolate. Her brown eyes were warm and sparkled.

“Am…I dead?” he asked her.

She shook her head.

“I am the spirit of Christmas of all times,” she said.

“But I thought…only three spirits?”

“This is a lesson you won’t want to miss. You have decided you want to change…Now
you can accept the true meaning of Christmas.”

The angel touched his forehead and the pair floated in the air and back through time. Sasuke looked at the angel, “What can I call you?”

“Hime,” she smirked.

Hime landed outside of a small stable.

“…Why are we outside of a pigpen?” Sasuke tsked.

Hime hit him on the back of the head, “Have some respect and watch.”

Sasuke watched as a group of shepherds walked over to the stable and bowed to a young woman who held a child in her arms. Sasuke stared at the child. Something about the baby made him feel warm and fuzzy inside.

“…Who is that?” he asked.

“That is Christ the Savior…We celebrate Christmas to remember this moment.”

“Can…Can you make me visible…so I can pay my respects?” he asked.

Hime nodded, “Of course…”

Sasuke walked over and bowed to the newborn child.

“Thank you…” he whispered.

Hime touched his shoulder and Sasuke’s eyes got heavy.
