Don't really know if I'll watch it right now, but I'll at least think about looking it up (anime is tightly regimented/scheduled with me right now, lol) because I'm SUPER busy.
You might have to sift through their different styles to find one you like, because they capture a lot of different themes. This one was one of their touching and poetic ones.
Each episode is different. There's some lighthearted episodes and some darker episodes. And no, the first season is 24 episodes, and the second season is only 13, nowhere near 70+.

Nah, it's by a dude. And yeah, it is dark and mysterious at parts, but it can also be light-hearted and hilarious. And whimsical and magical. But no matter what it is, it does incredibly. It's in my top 5 favorite anime.

Wow. I love this. It's beautiful and incredible.
I personally like Suga Shikao (He's the one who both of xxxHolic's OP's).
But, ultimately, I think I'll have to check out more of The Pillows (other than their FLCL stuff).
