Matey I know exactly how you feel! I was the only otaku in my classes at school, I am the only one at my section at work, Im the only one at home, and while I have a large circle of friends 1 of them in an otaku and there is 1 more who is kinda into anime but theyre not as obsessed passionate about it as me.

Wow thats nice, but don't count on him joining TheO, my own brother hasn't joined theO no matter how much I tell him to, so what can you except from an acquaitence?
Thanks for the comment :) It made me feel much better :) And my own brother is an anime freak but he doesn't join theO no matter how many times I tell him to. But still he watches anime, what more can I hope for...My best friend also likes anime but she doesn't have a computer so I can't really help her get into anime as much as I am...but it'll work out somehow, you're right :)

actually ever since i started a school again, i've been meeting a lot of otakus. mostly closet otakus that only admit it if they find out that you are an otaku as well.
But anyway- i'm content with being a loner otaku; it just means your that much more special and unique

What a coincidence? Today in English class I just found out that two of my acquaintances (Not necessarily good friends) were into anime as well. I told one of 'em about the site, but haven't heard from him today.
i had that problem last year:/ my friends didn't even want to watch anime and they wouldn't let me tell them about it .
Now if you are lucky you can try to create an otaku...(that sounds weird XD).i was able to introduce anime to the girl who was sitting behind me and happened to like my drawings and that girl right now is a member of the O ^_^ you just have to find someone with the same interests with you and then slowly tell him/her about anime
it will someway work out ;)
