It let's u escape your daily life, and the storylines are unique, are diverse from cartoons and other tv shows. Also the style of drawing helps draw you in... The more realistic it is without actually being real allows u to feel like u have a connection... In other words: anime is AWESOME
It's far better than most other forms of entertainment which are run by a corrupt agency hellbent on taking everything good away and brainwashing its audience.
