This is the main MAIN character of one of the many series of mine that have been put on hold before they've ever even really begun, Misuteru or, The Forsaken. The Forsaken takes place at the point where mankinds existence is quite literally counting down its final days. The waters of long melted ice caps have left enough land to maintain but one small country. This world, similar but different to our own, is full of various creatures whose ancestors chose to settle on this planet at the time when its inhabitants lived in prosperity, before its remaining resources collapsed and all technological advancements lost Mother's War with the elements.
Never had anyone hoped for a chance for new life-until a leak in the country's capitol government announced the city's plans to collect its citizens and final remedents of man before taking a ship to a newly discovered, life-supporting world...and leaving the rest of the country to perish. Fearful of a revolt before the final stages of their departure, the Officials create a competition known as Misuteru, in an attempt to filter out the average and eliminate the true threats among the nation's remaining population.
Simply put, one warrior per town and their chosen four must survive the outrageous elemental conditions that long-term global warming has brought upon the planet and make their way to the capitol city where they will, should they need to, fight for the final seats set aside for the victorious warrior and their company. While this farce leaves most to acknowledge the danger of such a journey and accept their fate, the more determined ones are picked off by hired assassins known as Martials meant to ensure that no living soul makes it to the capitol in time.
As part of the norm, several humans have the ability to manipulate elements or contort themselves through a long evolutionary exchange in order to accomodate with Mother Nature's newfound strength in the aftermath of her struggle with man. This ability, however, does not come without a price, and every user must give up more and more of themselves with each use. While several characters play a part with their own goals in set, the real mystery is a young woman who holds the rare ability to manipulate electricity, but abandons her gift in favor of her blade and a singularly trusted archer at her side. (note that im trying not to give away to much about her in case this series turns out to really be something i post on here )
The series follows the trials of three unknowingly connected groups as they face not only the extremeties of nature, but the unflinching strikes of the Martials as well as a number of two-faced dangers not only within their boundaries of trust, but within their own hearts as well. With the contradicting hearts and minds of so many colliding in the fight for existence, it leaves many of them wondering just who among them will see their desired end, and how much of themselves are they willing to give up. Will any of them continue when the world has met its last moment, or will they truly become the forsaken...

(i tried to make it sound all ominous, hope i did a good job. And sorry bout how long it is. Also note that there are one or two tweaks in the appearance of the main character that were not made until after this pic, so in the future i plan to place a link to a more accurate depiction, nothing big, she just has black hair instead of brown and blue eyes.)
