Hopefully it'll all work out in the end. And realistically speaking, even if you do go to Wales, I think a good percentage of the people there know some English, if only for the proximity to England.
Well that's a given, its not like I'll be there to find for myself. I'll probably be with a group of other students and some advisors.

Beware, if you choose to go to Wales, the road signs are (to Americans and those that don't speak Welsh) seemingly unintelligible. Have fun navigating... *shot*
