This is a WORLD full of resources dedicated to the aspiring artists of theOtaku of all kinds. The term 'artist' is not limited to the categories on theOtaku. Art can range from sculptures, photography, writing, film, graphic art, and much more! We will have a collection of various tutorials and references to offer that will help you improve and learn new skills in whatever you specialize. However, in order to improve, one must also receive feedback on their work. The members of the Creative Community will be available to provide critiques and aid you on your journey as an artist.

Along with the goal of assisting other artists, this is, after all, a community, and we would like to also make this a place where you can meet new people that share your same interests. This is a friendly haven that will hopefully bring together the many members of theO.

If you wish to join this community, please subscribe so you can receive notification on when new things are posted and fill out an application. Members who have subscribed and sent in an application will be given the Guest Poster privilege, and will be able to ask for critiques on their work. To maintain Guest Poster privilege, please provide critiques to other users so everyone can benefit.

This site is designed to run without a lot of supervision. Features such as critiques and corrections depend on the activity of members. Administrators have the responsibility of coming up with events and updating the website every now and then. So please act appropriately and stay friendly.

Video Critique Example

This is an example of a post asking for a critique. Anything in italics (aka, the instructions) does not need to be in your post. Please state in your title the type of video you would like to receive critique for (AMV, GMV, MMV, short film, etc). Then, please embed the video below, and write any important basic information, including the program used (the program is especially important, because it will affect the advice given through the critique since each editing program is different! Everything else, if applicable, is just curiosity) You may also include any other information you wish. To those providing the critique, you may leave your critique in the comments here or wherever the video is hosted (It's up to the discretion of the poster, though.) Remember, be encouraging and provide positive, constructive critiques.

"MMV: Loves Me Not"

Music: "Relapse Collapse" - In Fear and Faith
Fandom: Ib
Program: Sony Vegas 7

This video is a year and a half old, but I still consider it one of my best! My editing style hasn't changed much since this was created, so any critique is still valid and helpful.

This video actually began as an animation test. Most of the animations seen in the video were done before I had even picked a song. The theme of the video mostly revolves around the bad endings of Ib (which is a fabulous game that everyone should play-), and I used fanart to create it, since it's pretty hard to make a video with a pixel game. I spent somewhere between 10-20 hours creating this, and I think my hard work paid off, as the video has been pretty well received on YouTube and tumblr. But, I know it's still not perfect, so any suggestions are welcome so that I can avoid similar problems in future videos like this!

Thanks!

Hello everyone! Fun-chan here. This is a fan art I did of HTTYD, and I worked with Photoshop for this piece. Is there anything I can do to improve this piece? I had some trouble with the scale texture for Toothless (the dragon). Toothless also looked a little more cartoony compared to the realism of Hiccup (the boy). Do you think that hurts the piece? Do you know of any tutorials that could help me make the dragon look more realistic?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! :)
