I can't really explain much about him but let's try:

He's been friends with Reynard ever since Reynard was really little (before his mom died). His name is Rose because Reynard was only a little kid then and his eyes reminded him of red roses. When Reynard's mom died and he became depressed, he disappeared.(yeah haven't worked out this part of the story yet) He comes back when Reynard turned 16.

That's the best I got so far...
Oh and he can make himself look like anybody he want's to since he's like a shadow or something. Of course he likes to take Reynard's face but he can't doesn't change his eye and hair color.

Hair color - black
eye color - red
