A WIP of my entry in Le Kun’s contest, “Final Fantasy Character Creation” (another contest, lawlz). I’m actually done with the shading and everything, but knowing that the description is just as important, I’m going to make use of the one-week grace period to make a good one =) Thanks for the extra time, Le kun! I’ll be submitting this piece first to mark my progress. I’ll do an update soon.

Firstly, a rough piece of info about the contest: create a Final Fantasy OC. It’s as simple as that, but truth be told, it’s not easy to pull off. FF characters are known to have very complex character designs (especially their outfits). In fact, this is the very reason why my portfolio is entirely devoid of anything related to Square Enix even though I love their games, haha. This entry does not even come close in bearing any resemblance to FF, but in contrast to what others have submitted, I’ve decided to play upon the contest’s guidelines of “anything goes” and made something different. The contest says that the OC can be human/beast/machine/whatever. I’ve seen enough “party member” OCs already, so how about making a summon instead? ;) Besides, I don’t have amazing taste in costume design like the peeps in Square Enix do, so this saves me a lot of trouble from making them @_@

His name, Noroimusha (呪武者), literally means “cursed warrior”.

This pic was redrawn on a fresh piece of paper, the ugly-ass draft can be found here. I tried to search for reference when drawing the armour, but real-life designs are far too complex for me to pull off, so I settled for my own version. It turned out to be quite common-looking though...

I will skip the details about this pic and save it for the final version, for judging purposes. Meanwhile, comments and critique are most appreciated =D I know I’ve been absent for so long because of college and I apologise to all my friends here for not keeping up with your updates!
