This just goes to show you how many stupid people are out there in the world. And honestly, me being a really spiritual person and a Shinto, I see that most of the corruption is from those who are too blind to see....
Honestly, I hate those kind of people too. I wouldn't say that I'm religious, but I do go to church on Sundays and I think that people that are ignorant like those "protestors" make other more reasonable people look bad.
People like to twist religion to fuel their own agendas. I don't think religion is all bad, I think that certain people apply it in bad ways.
