Actually, mah boy-toy says it just takes a while for the little dog to get used to people. He's still not used to his best friend who's been coming to his house for about 6 years now... Hah, and here I am- almost brand new. XD
Maybe the dog saw him and I doing certain things and has just made that connection that I'm his master's... mate? XD

Sounds to me like the dog is trying to get rid of you with kindness. Since growling didn't work, it's resorted to snuggling. Don't let down your guard, Yosei! It'll surely try something once you lower your guard.
