And for one thing I am certain. If he really means that much to you, then you mean to him as well. He will know that you are always with him and that you think on him. For that I am sure that he is happy now and that he endures it with all his strength. :)

Like I said, he's in a different state. It would take a long time to get there and we can't just drop everything [no matter how much we want to] and go visit him. It's not that simple.

He's not very tech savvy, so he doesn't have a phone or a computer. I sent him a card yesterday, but other than that, there isn't a way to contact him.

He lives in a different state, so I can't see him as often as I'd like. And knowing about how bad his health is suddenly.. is kinda scary. I really hope he gets better, but the chances of that aren't the best. I hope he knows we're always thinking of him..

Well, Jesus! He is 100 years old and he is so sick that he needs surgery and a blood transfusion and can't get out of his bed. Sorry for thinking logically! It's not like I want to think he isn't going to be around anymore!

Sorry to hear that, it seems that his time will soon come.. But that doesn't mean that you still can't try to come and see him and to spend time.
It will be easier to him knowing that his granddaughter thinks on him. :)
