>DISTRACTED<

“Right. But, Um, My girlfriend is going to be there. And I know how un-accepting dad is of her, so…” I pointed out. My Dad was a Racist, sexist, homophobic man. Sadly, Natalie was an Asian lesbian. I remember the night I Came out to my parents, Natalie and I had been dating for a month or so, my dad threatened to kill her, get “His little girl” back. We ran out of the house, as far as we could. We hid behind a tree in the middle of the park, it became our tree.
“Oh. So it’ll just be me then?” My Mom said, “I guess that’s alright.”
“Okay, I’ll call you when I’m heading home, okay?” I said before hanging up. I Called Natalie, and she was Ecstatic at the news. I had been walking around the theatre district, fantasizing when I saw Sold Out signs. I dreamed about being interviewed, touring worldwide with leagues of actors and actresses. Maybe even writing a movie, working with some of my idols, Tim Burton, Winona Ryder, Ellen Page…
I noticed the time, it was five-Forty-five, and decided to start heading back. Of course I Made a two second stop for a Mocha Latte.
I went backstage, and John stopped me, handing me a small pile of papers.
“Your Actors.” He smiled widely.
“Thanks.” I Said, then walked out on stage to sit at the edge. I looked through the papers. My top three choices for Julia were a fifteen year old named Dianne Stevins, a Seventeen year old named Janelle Toms, and a Michelle Daemon, 16.
There were two guys on the list, Georgie Mitchells, Who looked far too innocent to play a guy like Damian, and Dorian Jonesy, Looked too well groomed for a sixteen year old.
Then, I Saw Lucy Sophia, a 17 year old redhead. She looked too perfect to be the heroine, if I messed up her hair a little bit, she’d be Danielle exactly how I envisioned her. I Told John the choices and he sent them in for a mini audition.
Dianne was a lot taller then she looked in the profile picture. She was a blonde, while I Hoped for a brunette. I got her, Dorian and Lucy to audition together.
“Hello, ladies.” Dorian said flirtatiously. He put his free hand on Dianne’s shoulder. “I had a Dream I’d see girls as beautiful as you last night.” Dianne’s attention went from him to Lucy in seconds, then back to him.
“What are your dreams?” Dorian smiled deviously at Dianne.
“I want to be a Photographer, and Julia wants to be a model.” Lucy looked lovingly into Dianne's eyes. They had real chemistry.
“You should see our shots.” Dianne said nervously, Lucy had obviously intimidated her. “Danielle did amazing with her perspective.” She tilted her head a bit towards her leading lady, finishing the scene.
“Alright!” I clapped, and I could hear John clapping from behind the curtains. “I don’t even know if I need to see the others! Lucy, You and Dianne had amazing chemistry. And Dorian, you actually made me feel like I Should be covering me!” He started laughing.
“So it’s settled, then?” John walked out. “These are your choices?” He asked me. I nodded a definite yes.

I invited my new cast out for some coffee and a great musical act and this coffee house my friend Maxine used to work at.
