I know, right? Oh, nothingness of Sophomore year..I miss you already. Haha, I haven't either. My Mum mentioned it the other day, and I was like, oh yeah, visiting colleges. Forgot about that. IU love the little kids <3 I totally wanted to be with the preschoolers, but they already had a lot of people who wanted to. Next year I'll sign up early. LOL.
Oh my gosh, tell me about it! Freshman year everyone talks to you about how you're starting high school, Sophomore year they don't really have anything to say to you, and then Junior and Senior year they want to know what college you're going to.
I'm kind of a procrastinator and haven't visited any campuses, but I have a pretty good idea of where I'm applying. XD
Anyway, to get back on the subject, yes, I think I will. I really enjoyed helping this year, and I want to try working with the younger kids next year. Then I plan on deciding which I like better and working from there. It's exhausting and at times frustrating, but oh so much fun!
LOL, yeah, that was less thatn helpful, but what are you gonna do? And oh, my birthday is wrong on TheO. I put it in wrong when I first got the account, and now I can;t figure out how to change it XD Sad, right? I'm 16, and about to be a Junior. Sorry about that. But yeah, I will definitely help! I love the interaction with different kids from the community, who we don;t usually see. I don't know what college I'm going to(not that that stops my entire extended family from interrogating me), but I'll probably be back for the summers, so hopefully it won't a problem! How about you?
It was fun! I understand what you mean, though, with people goofing off like the kids or really only paying attention to theirs when they all need leaders.
Judging by your birthday, I'm guessing you're a senior (I'm not creepy, I promise!). Do you think you'll keep helping out once you've graduated?
Yeah, I think it was pretty understaffed. But my group also had a "leader" who was a Freshman, and she just sat around and acted like one of the kids, and one who was one of the kid's grandparents, so she only really payed attention to that kid. So that was less than helpful. Which was sad, because they kids were so sweet, and you wish you could give them all more attention. Wow!! That IS a big church! That sounds like a lot of fun, though : )

I really am surprised that you were assigned so many kids. You had about a fourth of them! Did they not have enough volunteers?
I go to a huge church, and kids from around the area and other churches participated, too, so we had over 400 kids. The hardest part was setting up for it. xD
I know, right? I have no clue why the pastor decided to do this. It was very chaotic!
Yeah, they are all very cute and sweet, and I love them all, but it can be tough to have all of them at once. They are seriously a handful! And oh my goodness, that scares me, too! My cousin is allergic to milk, eggs, and nuts, and it can be scary to eat around him sometimes. Little boys are fun : ) Crazy, but fun! I'm glad you liked it.
Oh, that's cool! I was super curious about how they would do that. Haha, I love VBS music! It's always super fun~ Yeah, we had a Bayou one a few years ago at my church! Crocodile Dock, or something like that. I really liked that one.
YES! We had Chadder, too! They had this one live action, though. I didn't know they had cartoons! That's pretty cool. It was pretty amusing, though. The groups at my church are all ages(K-5), so I was pretty impressed that all the kids were interested in the movies. They thought it was absolutely hilarious!
On the first night we had about 100 kids, and I think by the end of the week, we had maybe 120-150? It was pretty insane. But very fun! The theme was basically "God is wild about you!"ish. It wasn't only about pandas, it was kind of about rare and exotic animals(pandas, finches, snow leopards, ect.) I was a little surprised about the ones they chose, because they seemed a little random, but they would have a video about each animal and the way God takes care of them. It was pretty cute. I wouldn't say it was really jungle themed, because they didn't have it decorated that way. Everything was Pandas and bamboo : ) It was very cute! I had a ton of fun : ) Thanbs for telling me about your VBS, too!
Holy cow, that is a HUGE group! We kept the groups smaller at our church, with five or six kids assigned to each leader (and an assistant, if they had one).
Ohh, all three ADHD kids? That's hard! Our scariest kid was the one who was allergic to EVERYTHING and had to bring his own snacks. My friend and I were terrified every time he ate something. xD Other than that, they were little boys, and boys will be boys. It was a tiring week, but I loved it! I can't wait until next year! :D
The Sky theme actually worked very well, I thought, and the music was extremely catchy..I still don't have it out of my head! We just had flying experiments and our Bible buddies could fly. I know what you mean, though. When I was little we had themes like the Bayou and such.
Do you have the Chadder videos? I was so surprised that he was cartoonized, but I liked it.
How many kids did you have over all? And what was Pandamania about?
Oh my goodness! I LOVE VBS! Sky themed..I saw a bunch of signs for that, and I was like, "Wait..what?" I had no idea where they were gonna go with that. It sounded fun, though! What happened to when I was little, and the theme was, like "Hawaii" or something simple? Haha. We did Pandamania this year. It was AWESOME!! But VEERY chaotic. I think there were about 25 kids in my crew. And maybe 4 leaders. And half the leaders had NO clue what was going on. So everyone was all like "Miss Ponyo, Miss Ponyo!! Help us with everything!" I love kids, so this is what I live for, but at the same time..it was hectic! Oh, and one guess whose group they decided to put all 3 of the ADHD kids in? I have no idea who planned there groups. When I told people who was in mine, they cringed. LOL. But it was amazing! How did you like VBS?
