I grew up on botched anime. So naturally my parents had no objections since that was when things were literally edited to death. By the time they started NOT totally ruining the shows in question, I was an adult and it didn't matter.

Both of my parents like it a little, but mainly just things like movies, such as Spirited Away or Howl's Moving Castle.

My parents don't really care much about what I watch or read so long as it's not hentai or anything, though I do have to be careful about watching Death Note or violent shows when they are around. My mom likes to know what I'm listening to so I told her about Anime-Pulse, and if I do try to talk about anime or manga they just smile and nod.

My brothers both watch Naruto and my parents both know about it. Though they find it "strange" and can't pronounce the name right. (Are you guys going to watch those No-roo-toes?)

They generally steer clear of mentioning it. However, I've had many a talking to(s?) about how I should share my manga with my brother. It's almost all 'magical girl/romance' type so he wouldn't like it anyway. P:

Which reminds me, I need to get posting rights so I can ask some questions as well... |D

My parents had to put up with my unfortunate five-year old addiction to Sailor Moon, as well as the gagillion times we watched Spirited Away. Mainly my parents steer clear of anime. My dad goes to conventions with me, and my mom just ignores it. I'll never forget the 'talking to' I got when she found out one of my favourite manga is about cross dressing... XD "I can't believe you read this!! It's sick." I was like, "Geez, Mom, it's make believe." She relinqueshed and bought me the final volume and just handed it to me while I sat there dumbstruck...

When I became a serious anime fan, serious enough to start buying things, I was already going into college, so I never had to butt heads with my parents over it, thankfully.

I've tried to get them to watch things, but it hasn't really turned out well. They'll watch it if I put it on, but they don't really care one way or another and don't pay much attention. The most success I've ever had was showing Nausicaa to an aunt and uncle, and they thought it was a decent movie.

So I've always been left to my own devices. I watch anime either during the day when my parents are at work, or late at night when they're in bed.

My parents are most definitely not into anime.^^ So we just don't discuss it. It helps that I'm out on my own attending college now.

Everytime I would bring home a new InuYasha manga in 8th grade I would try to show it to my mom and everytime she'd mess up the name and say that InuYasha was a "pretty girl".
