Yah, I don't think there's ever been a decent point system for Figure Skating. They've been messing with it for years, and they still haven't come up with something that really, FAIRLY works. It is way too subjective.
I read a theory that men don't like figure skating less because of its hyper-masculine look (yes, hyper), but because it's a judged sport based very much on subjectiveness and the like. Men apparently don't like that quite so much when compared with clear points and/or time measurements.
Other than that, ladies and gentlemen, Mr. It's-not-men's-figure-skating-without-the-quad in all his glory.
I take it your friend doesn't actually watch the Olympics? I mean, you have hordes of skaters, skeleton-ers, skiers, and so many others, all wearing skin tight fabric that leaves very little to the imagination (or perhaps more? XD).
