And here I felt like I got the gist of it just fine. As in the cycle of attempting to manipulate the different worlds in order to facilitate reviving the witch, was finally ended.

Perhaps the ending felt anti-climatic on account of it leaving off with them not knowing what the future held. Since they're no longer trapped in the same cycle anymore, how could they?

It seemed rather fitting to me and I was pleased that they didn't pull some melodramatic crap at the end just so they could maybe do some hair-brained sequel in the future.

I have some catching up to do. I'll try to do it this weekend; hopefully then I can either shed some light or join the confusion.

I don't know either, which makes me terribly disappointed. Hopefully CLAMP elaborates elsewhere, or that will be the most anti-climactic thing I've read in a long time.
