Ayami closed the front door behind her.
"Don't make a scene and stand up, my son is already asking questions I don't want to answer more" Ayami said angrily.
Later on, both women sat in the paddock cafe and had a more calm conversation.
"You're Ramona's daughter? I half expected a Helkin girl to be more well endowed" Ayami said. The Helkin family were one of the most powerful families in Bayside, easily recognised by the Adonis like men and the Aphrodite blessed women, Zoe was tall for a woman, typically a Helkin girl would be close to 6ft tall, but she lacked the Jessica Rabbit like proportions, Ayami thought it didn't seem right until she saw Zoe's rose tattoo on her right shoulder, Ayami's eyes glowed as she stared at it "that explains it" she thought to herself.
"I was shot in school" Zoe interrupted
"I know, the Bayside football shooting" Ayami was aware of the incident.
A cheerleader was drugged up and sent on a rampage that killed several college football players and also went after Zoe, it was an attempt to assassinate the Helkin children but ultimately failed when a track runner stopped the attacker, but the damage was done, Zoe lost her scholarship for pro racing and was forced to pay everything off with a degrading delivery job, she tried a Metro career but her constant angry driving earned her the name Hellcat and was quickly put in her place by Kara Shindo who despises nepotism.
"I'm going to give you two runs, one on this race track and the other on the Metro, I'll choose the car, but don't get any ideas of taking my title, you have to live with whatever others call you, if you want to change it, then do something that earns it" Ayami demanded.
After a short trip and some preparation, Zoe started on Ayami's private race track and set numerous lap times.
Ayami who was watching with her engineer did see some potential.
"What are we looking at Gaston?" Ayami asked.
"All those pro skills are on display, no doubts about that but they're a bit rough around the edges, because of her injury, it's almost like she's holding back on a much smoother style, almost like she can dance with her car" Gaston explained.
"I'll setup a Metro run for the Haruna highway for after midnight, it's a work night so I know she'll be on there that time" Ayami remarked.
