Haha okay I can explain it...basically you get whatever text you want to outline and make sure it's the size and font you want. Then while on that layer, you go to the layer drop down menu at the top, then go down to transparency and click "alpha to selection." Then make a new layer, put it below the text layer. While on this new layer, go to Select, then Grow. Pick how large you want the outline, press okay, and there will be an outline you then can bucket fill.
Did that make sense? If not let me know.
I can also try to find a good youtube video I used if my explaining confused you.

Ah I see. Yeah the edges are much better. The only thing I'd say is that the outline of her hair on her face is still a little too sharp

It kinda looks the same to me and lol photobucket. I hated how slow and annoying it was so I switched to tinypic.

In ps you go to filter -> blur -> surface blur and adjust and stuff BUT there is also another option you can use if you only want to soften some parts (what I use for icons)

In that case is it possible to blur some parts? (not even blurring, just barely blurring so it doesn't even make much of a difference besides getting rid of the pixel-y parts) I use PS so it makes sense to me but I dunno what it's like on GIMP >___<

The image was originally a manga scan, a chapter opener cover thingy I think. So I badly attempted to render it and made the background myself.
I could try to blur but then it just might look...blurry. LOL. But I can see.

If so, can you use surface blur to soften the image or sharpen to sharpen the background maybe?
