    Probably not. ^^ Just like the press photo of Matt Smith released with the announcement of his casting, she's likely just in the clothes she was wearing that day. What I'm hoping to see soon is another press photo of them together in character, like they've done in the past when new filming begins.

    Is this how her character will look in the show? She's one of the more simple ones. Not a lot of make-up and "stylish" wardrobe like, say, Rose's character. I liked Rose, but this is pretty cool.

    And that's like my wardrobe. It's kinda nice to know that I'm not that much of a freak. My style isn't as bad as I thought it was. I'll have to tell my mother.

    Well, you don't really need to keep track of everything that's gone on in the past to enjoy the show. Just a basic awareness of the process is good enough. ^^

    @Allamorph:

    Fortunately, that's not the case. You really need to see the full Doctor Who Confidential that introduced Matt Smith. Steven Moffat (incoming exec. producer and lead writer) explained that originally he was adamant that they should cast someone in their 40s because he knew that it was a rarity for someone young to be able to play the Doctor. However, they were so impressed with Matt, and even after continuing to audition other actors for several weeks, they knew in the end he was the one they wanted. It was his performance and not his age that grabbed them. These are people who know what's involved with the show, are intimately aware of it's history, and would never make a decision in haste based on demographics. And traditionally, the companions have been young women from the very start of the series back in the 1960s.

    I know to some people it looks what you said, but I assure you that's not what's going on.

    My concern is that the show's producers are attempting to make the show "edgier and more hip" with a leading cast that "the younger generation might more readily identify with".

    Which to me is a complete bonehead mistake, since it ruins the basic premise of the series.
