"Yes."
Heh, I also like the part where Rei comes in and everyone thinks she has the yellow card and Yoshino calls her an idiot something like eight times in a row.

I'm still laughing at, I think, ep12 where Yumi gets embarrassed about walking in on Shimako giving chocolate to Noriko, and then gets all, "OMG KAWAII~ <3 <3 <3" while thinking about Sachiko. hahaha Yumi is the best.
I was going to comment on the bird bit, but I've been beaten to it. Arakawa's pacing is fast. She's written less than 100 chapters, which isn't much for a shonen action series, and is almost done with the manga (as it seems). In the manga, all of Liore is only a single chapter (although it is returned to at a later date)
Sam & Max Ep 305-Sam: One recipie to rule them all and one egg to bind it!
Hee, yeah, I'm going to agree with what Aceburner said wholeheartedly. I've read the manga again recently, and yeah, they basically portrayed Lior as it was portrayed in the manga - brevity and all. The tone of the manga is a great deal more matter-of-fact whereas the first series was more driven by emotional scenes, so the fact that Brotherhood whips through the scenes that the first series expanded on is more a by-product of Arakawa's style.
That said! If you prefer the way the first series did it, I'm not going to argue with that. But this series needs to do it's own thing so it won't become a retread; I don't think it's a case of one doing it right or one doing it wrong. It's just two different ways of telling a story.
In Brotherhood's defense, I don't think the bird scene was ever actually in the original manga. Basically all Cornello ever did was lead Rose on with false promises after doing a couple of parlor tricks with his amplifier stone. So really, it's not a case of skimming over an important plot point, it's more a case of the other series expanding on something that the manga never felt the need to go into too much detail over. Not being used to it is probably going to cause some ruffled feathers (LOL PUN,) but I just consider it not so much a pacing issue as it is just not going the extra mile that the first series did. Then again, they both eventually end up being completely different stories, so it might be for the better for now.

@KitsuneTsuki:
It's meant to be closer to the plot of the manga. But yes, this is a redo, it's not a continuation of the first series.

R.O.D. is one show I really want to watch through again. I just love the characters so much. Maggie is my hero.

So... from what you said, the new FMA is a retelling of the original story? That's just odd.
