I burned out on Trek too. But I'm rather interested in seeing this new film now. I think it's going to inject some life into the franchise. They've rested it for a few years now, and It's interesting that they're going back to before the original series.
Plus it will be nice to see Kirk without the... benefit, of Shatner. >>

Getting out of jury duty good, change in doctor... I'm still out on that one since I haven't seen enough of the series to be attached to any one actor.

Ugh jury duty, I am so glad I got out of that as fast as I could. I did get some money out of the deal though. I've seen some interesting things about that new Star Trek movie. I was never really into Star Trek though (i've been a Star Wars fanman my whole life) but this actually looks pretty neat. William Shatner won't be in it either, SUPREME JOY!

Actually, this is what's going on: Russel T Davies, executive producer and head writer, is leaving after next year. Steven Moffat - who wrote The Empty Child / The Doctor Dances, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, and Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead - is going to take over in those positions. I'm hoping that this well mean a jump in overall quality for the series, since Davis could be at times brilliant (Utopia, Midnight) and yet at other times horrible (Aliens of London / World War Three).
I was hoping Tennant would do a season with Moffat heading up the show, and he said he was very tempted to do so, but he stuck with his original plan of leaving the same time as Davies.
