Hahah, I am amused by how you've gotten yourself into all the "big" debate-type threads.
Although heck, I'm the same way. Haven't seen the Sexuality topic in a couple days though, so I have no idea how people have been responding.

But seriously, even though we have differing opinions, it's no reason to throw insults at people. We're all human, after all.

Funny story: My mom always wants to get jury duty, but never does. My dad's the one who gets the summons instead.

Wow, jury duty again?? That's really unusual. I hope they do the right thing and excuse you.

Personally I really like OtakuBoards. ^_^ Though it probably helps that my roommate is one of the moderators and in addition to that, I've meet a lot of really nice people.

The debates can get pretty heated but so far, since I joined, I've been pleased by how for the most part it's pretty civil.

Doesn't mean there aren't members that I tend to avoid though.^^ By far my favorite part is being in some of the collaborative storytelling rpg's there. Those are fun. I hope you stick around. ^_^

I've always wanted to be a jury... Which is another thing I can't do, just like voting. ^^' Anyway, I hope they understand that you can't be a jury. I'm sure they can find plenty of other people to annoy about it. X3

Yeah, I know how you feel. It's hard for me not to get angry either. But I try my best to continue debating in a civilized way using logic and reason to illustrate my points.

[shrugs] People can listen to you or they can't listen to you. Everyone has their differences, and there really is no use in arguing. Oh well.

What makes OB fun is you can pick and choose what you want to jump into. I vote for the anime section like Shin mentioned. ._. That's the area I moderate. ^_^

EDIT: Also, definitely take Timber's advice and look up the length of time the state must wait before summoning people for jury duty after the person has done it already. If it's two years or more, then give the court a call and tell 'em you did your duty. :)

Never really checked out the OtakuBoards, but I have to admit that the idea of arguing discussing issues with people sounds fun. I've always loved doing that. It's really interesting, and every once in a while I believe I help pry open people's minds a bit.

It depends. I was there from early in the morning til mid afternoon. It involved hours of waiting until they were ready to call us, then we went through the first rounds of juror questions so they could boil our group down to twelve, then we had lunch, then more waiting... and when they called us back up, they had settled and we were dismissed. @_@

That was just one day. I shudder to think how much longer it might have gone on. And if you get picked, of course you're going to have to be in court every day a trial goes on until you reach deliberation, and who knows how long that would take.

It was January '07. And we didn't even go to trial that time. After the first round of juror questions and lunch, they settled. It was all a huge waste of time. >>;

The point is, I can't go out without someone accompanying me do to the extreme nature of my panic attacks. T_T

And yes, it saddens me too.

I've never really ventured into the OB, and I kind of think I should. Buttttt, if it involves me having to come up with witty replies and such for topics like the whole Iraq war and such, I have to waver. My brain isn't good at functioning with arguing.

Again for jury duty? You're such a popular guy, eh, TC? Ugh, I hope I never have to do it, though. Doesn't it take such a long time to do?

I still don't think I'm in any hurry to jump into OB hell just yet. Still got some things to settle first before that. Sounds like you're making a helluva dent over there, though.

Like I said at OB, welcome to Hell. =P I kid. I moderate that section so I'm well acquainted with some of the more interesting members. And yet, OB is a fairly friendly forum based on other places I've been too. o_O

Word of advice, ignore Raiha. She's smart, but at the same time she can be overbearing. However, you can be equally as blunt in return and she's fine with it.

I certainly hope you stick around, I enjoy seeing new views added into the discussions. ^_^

Now you just need to whack someone for giving you jury duty again. o_O
