Dancing Leaves Chapter 2

Grave site after the council meeting.
"Hello." Despra walked up and sat down in front of a grave. "Here. Taia says hi and that the class picked these for you." She then laid a small bouquet of daisies in front of a gravestone that read Hiroki Muko. "I brought some of that tea you like." She pulled out two cups and poured Pong-Tao tea into each of them. "Hiroki, what we feared has come true. It's taken 2 more people last night. Frankly for once I don't know what to do. I've fought, strengthened the shield, but it's getting into the village somehow. Which is leading me to believe it's in the village and I think I know where it is. Hiroki what should I do?"
Silence.
"Heh, that's what I thought you'd say." Despra then put the two now empty cups back in her bag and walked back to the village.

Park in village a few minutes later
"Come on, Darku, say something..." Taia begged, watching the little boy play will a broken hair clip, which she had recognized was Despra's. In two whole months, that boy hadn't said a word. Not even a squeak. He just sat there and played or slept. The two were sitting against a tree where they often went whenever there was a council meeting since Taia ditched them all. The only reason they had demoted her was because of both her sister and brother. Don't get her wrong, she doesn't use that as an excuse, it’s just true. Her siblings are these great leaders and she’s just in charge of raising the children. Preferably, though, her sister can stay leader forever. It was so much more fun not inheriting villages. All that work!

Taia sighed as the blonde boy ignored her. Suddenly, her ears perked up and she found the sound of familiar footprints; Despra. Quickly, Taia shot up, picking up the boy, and looking in the direction of the sound. She heaved a sigh, setting off to catch up with her sister. This meant the meeting was over, it was safe to go back home. "Despraaaaa~!" Taia called, catching sight of her sister.

Despra heard a loud yell, which Taia knew perfectly well that it hurt Despra's ears. Finally she had found her little sister and as usual she was with Darku.
"Do you know how hard it is to find you?" Even though it only took Despra about a minute to sense her sister's location and to get there. "Let me guess Mr. Silence you're holding still isn't talking and it's driving you coo coo."
Taia just stared at her sister. "Very funny."
"Well if you want to know how the meeting went I got chewed up, spat back out, and then eaten again. Somehow me depleting all my power every night to fight this thing and to strengthen the shield, which thanks to you seems to be expanding every day, isn't enough. *Sigh* Then again it took two more people last night so I guess it's not."
Despra then walked away back towards town. That's when Taia noticed that Despra was looking even more pale than usual. Despera then stopped and glanced back at the now worried Taia. "Oh and if I remember right you promised Yumiko that you'd show her around at noon today."
"You think I don't know that." Taia answered.
"Nope. I know you know that. What you don't know is that it's three thirty."
The next thing that happened was that Taia turned from a wolf demon into a blur as she rushed back to the village.
"Heh. Poor kid. *Yawn* Maybe I can just crawl in a corner and go to sleep without being attacked by very angry and very loud villagers."

Hiroki Muko was one of the greatest and most honorable warriors of The Order. But even he tires of battle. Which is why he is walking himself to the High Kingdom Gates to disapear.
"WAAAAAIIIIIIITTTT!!!!"
Hiroki grimanced at the loud shout knowing excatly who it was and hoped no one heard her as his youngest sister, Taia, came running up to him.
"Could you have yelled any louder? I don't think the whole city heard you."
"*Huff* *Huff* Sorry, *Huff* I didn't want you to leave without me."
"How did you even know I was leaving?"
"I sort of, kind of over heard you talking to your friends about leaving." Taia shyly said while pushing her index fingers togther and looking at the ground.
"And what makes you think I'd take you along with me?"
"Becwase I'm your wittlest siser." That's when she folded her hands and put on a puppy face.
"*Grumble*" Hiroki muttered.
"Are you really suprised she's asking."
Hiroki stiffened and turned to see his second younger sister, Despra, jumping down from the top of the gate. "Wonderfull I have one sister begging me take her with me and the other trying to convince me to stay. And by convince I mean threaten to tell father of my leaving."
"I don't recall me convincing or threatening anyone. And what makes you think that's why I'm here?" Despra stated.
"You mean your not here to stop us." Taia then peeks out from behind her brother revealing her little hiding place.
"Us?" Hiroki looked down at Taia exasperated.
"For your information I'm here to ask to come along." Despra said, clearly becoming irratated.
"And by ask you demand."
"Yep."
"And by any chance if I say no are you going to tell father that I'm leaving."
"You know me so well." At this point Despra had a little smirk on her face.
"Alright I'll give you guys a few minutes to..."
"Ready." The two sisters said simotanously while pulling their bags from what seemed like nowhere.
"*sigh* Okay let's head out before I aquire any more traveling companions."
And with that the three sibilings set out into the night never to be seen agian in the High Kingdom.
