It wasn't the teacher, I just got back there and all the memories came back to me. Mostly because I went with my friend and she was really popular in high school, so while we were there a bunch of her old friends kept coming up to greet her and I didn't really have anything to say..kinda awkward.

Yeah, high school was not a fun time. I went back once to say hi to a former teacher and I was like 'now I remember why I wanted to leave here so badly.'

We don't have to go back to school, luckily. There's a local bakery that does events (like musicians, poets, performers etc.) the group reserves a night at the bakery for that purpose. So we can reunite, eat yummy food, and listen to poetry, without having to go back to high school!

My school didn't put it together, exactly. One of the English teachers got the idea, and he facilitates it with the help of some students. The group of people performing has grown because a lot of people who used to attend the school come back to participate.

It's just where people read poetry out loud, and my old high school has this group that holds competitions at this bakery. The prizes for winning are bakery items.
