this sounds bad,but since you say that you have this problem too i dont feel so bad ^^ thanks for sharing with me :D Also good luck with your music XD
Yep, your right, inspiration comes whenever. When i feel inspiration coming to me, by the time i set up my drawing materials the inspiration would go away :/ i'm really trying to find a corner in the house and set up a mini studio, so i could just go there and have everything out when i need to draw. maybe i should really do it before school starts :D

Don't be discouraged by the fact that you're doing more realism than manga art. It's a very useful skill to have and it makes you a more versatile artist. You can find ways to incorporate realism into your manga art for your own unique style.

As for your not wanting to draw manga at the moment even though you feel like you should, I completely understand. Right now I'm having a bad case of "musician's block" (there's a block for everything), and it's been going on for a month now. My dream job is to be a musician, but lately I haven't felt like playing my guitar or writing songs. What I have felt like doing is reading manga. So, my solution to get back on track is to try to write a song about a manga character. It sounds ridiculous, but it could work.

Inspiration is a fluid thing. It goes away for a bit, but it'll come back. My advice is to not give up. I don't think inspiration can be forced, but I also think that it can come from anywhere-- especially when you least expect it.

Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!

Well, realism in art can be an important skill to have. Not a lot of people on this site (that I've seen) hit the realism notes, so you have that in your favor.

Maybe you could try a graphic novel with a more realistic look?
