*applause* And this is partially why my teachers are shocked that I play video games. My mother, when she went to parent-teacher conference, told them I was at home playing games, and my teachers went, "Whaaaat?!". I'm also a relatively good student, involved in band, community service, etc. Video games are just a whole part of it. I'll never stop playing video games, even if I won't be in the field of video games...

Your prose is a little awkward/clunky sometimes, not flowing as well as it could with the information you're getting out. Still, you characterise well and are really good at getting the feeling of your work out to the reader. The fact that Dirk's situation probably rings true at least a little for most of the people here doesn't hurt that, either (and I hope they take this to heart).
*clapclapclap* Yay! This is pretty cool for a journalism assignment. I like how it is a human interest story, but could very easily pass as an OP/ED with a bit of minor tweaking.
