How Nekomata Found Her Friends Part 2

The next morning I awoke early. I decided to try to find something to eat. I opened every door I could find. No food. I kicked the oven door in anger. But then I sighed, no point getting angry on an empty stomach. So I changed clothes and went out of the house, hoping to find a place to eat.
I looked at all the houses on my way to town. They were a lot like mine, except the grass was well taken care of. When I got to the town, I found a diner serving pancakes. As soon as I walked in I realized something...I had no money!
But at the same time, a young waitress scooted me off to a table.
"Maybe I can do the dishes or something..." I thought.
But then I saw a boy who look a little older than me, he had blond hair, yellow eyes, a black shirt, and red jeans. He was with a much younger girl, who also had blond hair and yellow eyes. But she was wearing all pink. The boy noticed me staring (I do that a lot) and walked over to me and said,
"I haven't seen you in this part of town before?" (no he does not a cowboy accent)
"I'm Neka, I just moved here and--" I began.
"Really oh cool! Where do you live? Where did you live? Why are you here? Why--" the young girl interrupted.
The boy covered her mouth and grinned.
"Sorry about my sister...I'm Shukaku. And this little demon's name is Misa." he explained.
I laughed at the demon part, because, well...I am a demon! ^_~
He sat down and talked with me. He was telling me about his friends, until he mentioned Houkou.
"Wait, Houkou? The boy with the silver hair?" I asked.
"Yeah! You know him?" he replied.
"Oh yeah, he came over to my house yesterday to help me move in. He also invited me to join him with his friends...I guess that means you and the others." I explained.
"Hehe, that guy's always curious." Shukaku joked.
Then Misa started talking about some made-up crazy story about Houkou and her.
"Does she do this a lot?" I whispered to Shukaku.
"All the time, she also has a huge crush on my best friend Kyuubi"
I giggled at the thought of this girl glomping on to some boy much older than her.
We ate our pancakes and at the end I said,
"Um...I kinda don't have any money with me." I said nervously.
Shukaku laughed, but not at me. "That's okay! I'll pay for it. You can just pay me back sometime. Like if Misa somehow disappears when I'm gone, you can get her back!" he grinned.
"Thanks" I sighed a relief.
We parted our separate ways afterward.

I walked home. My mother wasn't home though. I found a note on the table,
"Be back later."
I grunted and left to go to my room. I thought of Shukaku compared to Houkou. They were both very different, but almost the same accent.
"Maybe it's the place I'm in..." I thought. But then again the waitress didn't have that similar accent though. But then I started to fall asleep...
