I never thought that your pictures were boring moonlit. I think they are really awesome!
But I know how you feel. A short few years back I thought the very same thing. And I was really concerned over it because I didn't do any flashy backgrounds and stuff. Or at least I didn't think they looked as nice as they should be. Another aspect of my art that I had trouble with is the characters looking too stiff, mostly in the poses. Little by little I did work on it and I see the difference. I don't even worry about it anymore! XD
Haha yeah. I'm the same way with drawing backgrounds traditionally. It's so much better when I do them on the computer since I can erase and edit to my heart contempt with out ruining the canvas!
That's a good stress reliever. I do the same thing sometimes that often comes out crappy too since I have so much on my mind.
That's great to hear! Having fun is all that counts in this world, especially if your an artist. It's so hard to draw when your not having fun with it.
I get worried about this kind of stuff too... though not so much with the quality of the scan. My scanner usually does a pretty accurate job, lucky for me. :,D
But sometimes I feel like my pictures are too boring because I don't draw anything in the background 90% of the time. :/ And I have a problem with poses. I get a little concerned that people will think my pictures are too boring due to the lack of... intersting stuff. xD; I guess that actually motivates me to draw interesting poses and background and whatever, but it just gets so frustrating sometimes. "orz I end up giving up half the time.
When I get too concerned with perfection and whatnot, I draw a random, sloppy picture of whatever I feel like and don't really think about what other people might think about it. Usually it looks really bad because I'm working so fast, but hey... it gets the annoying feelings out of me.
Usually I just draw what I feel like, though... interesting or not. I get an idea in my head and have fun drawing it. :M
I agree with you, I don't think artists should be too concerned about what others think of their pictures. I mean, if you have fun drawing, just draw. :)
