Yeah I agree, I know it can be hard to keep up with everyone and everything but when you give a little bit of effort it really shows. That’s why I like to do something on here so I don’t feel like I’m wasting away haha. Now that I’m making new accounts and trying to be active on other sites it can get overwhelming at times. I try my best to comment on every site, even if it’s with one person.

Yeah, I barely see any artist that was popular because they active in the community and had nice pictures, I can probably count them on my finger. It’s is nice to see them and it makes you want to know them more and be friends with them.

Aww, thank you that was really sweet of you to say! I try to be a positive presence where ever I go haha. I know I give because people need it and hopefully appreciate it. I enjoy it also; I do get a kick out of giving! As the saying goes good comes to those who wait. :3 I’m glad that people gained something positive from me. That really makes my day and makes me try harder to be the best I can be! As long as I know my work is bearing fruit I’ll always keep doing what I’m doing. :3

You deserve as much attention and good as I do. You were one of the first people I saw on theO that was popular for their personality and great art! You leave long great comments on people’s art and its always inspiring! Never change okay, because I learned a lot from you as well. I know others did too. :3 When these tougher times are over I know you will really spread your wings and fly!

Yeah, when it comes to the internet there will be competition. There’s no way to please everyone for sure. But exposing more unknown people will help that at least.

OMG yes, the picture was in the front page the day before (and is from a popular artist). This is the third time it happened in a row (not including walls and cards). I was going to make a sarcastic post about the front page in general but I don’t like to make so many “rant” posts in a short period of time. But yeah, another victim of feature fail, how to draw Manga or unnatural boobs from a birds eye view, random character doing the “framing” gesture, and kawaii desu with more unnaturally big boobs in your face. >:U (huge signs)

I definitely know what you mean. It would really be nice to see someone get lots of subs and such because they like to comment people and help them/be friendly. Not only that, but just a balance of being a great artist that loves to help people...that would be a combination I'd love to see. I mean, it would be a relief actually, to see that...because I so far don't know any super popular fan artists that have tons of subscribers that keep up with all of them. Especially like...Iruka...bad experience *sighs*
You really are one of those people that deserve so much more than what you give!! You love to comment and help others...and you're so creative too! So many can learn from you! I know I have ^^

It really does feel like theOtaku will never create the ultimate system that will be fair...there will always be people that complain, I'm sure. But I guess the best we can do really is just go with it...(and TODAY'S FEATURE. Oh. MY. WORD. *bangs fist on table and then bandages it*)

Haha, the artist only subbed 7 people and had over 400 that subbed them. How many people are on this site seriously? I haven’t seen numbers like that ever for subs. D:< I mean, I’m the one to talk since I’m one of them but like wow, you only like 7 people on the whole damn website. (signs)

I only get tomatoes on a good day XD compared to the other artists. But if I did get digital panties I would want neon pink and green ones that a cat boy wore. XD

I got a lot of that too, that would also be a pretty nice feature for this site. :3

I even looked to see if they had a world and it was only one post in the whole thing. It is sad; I wanted to know more about the artist but only found fool’s gold. I’m not sure way most of the popular artists don’t comment or anything. I’m just glad ALL of them are not that way and do give some time to comment back or at least give thanks for the support. OMG you really hit the nail on the coffin with that one. There’s nothing more admirable when a person is popular because they are friendly, helps others, and gives back in some form. I think everyone should give back at some point of their lives, you wouldn’t believe what good it brings to you. Especially when you’re in the art community because someone out there will need help with something. That’s why I like my Café Mew club, I can help others by posting links to tutorials and others can do the same. I know there are younger artists (or anybody) that probably need resources and references when drawing. I can bring just that to them so it’s easier for them to find. The things I had problems with art I can shed some light on, so it won’t be so hard for the next person.

That feature would be nice. Also if you can chat with them with a mini IM system. That would really fun and useful. I know I would use it a lot haha!

Yeah, something to level the playing field would be nice but somehow it always back fires. I try to comment on other’s art as well, I usually do a few pieces in the morning if I’m up to it. It’s nice getting to know other artists and probably a new friend!

Haha thanks; rant posts are always nice here and there. I’ll try not to abuse that power! Yeah, I notice that too thank you; I’m glad I made a challenge that all artists can enter and enjoy! I still have to comment on all of the entries. I feel bad if I don’t. >__<

As for things I'd like to add, I too would like to know who is on when without it being premium. I'd like featured fandom for every category, too.
Most of all I'd like the PM system to be like email, so I could sort it into folders and the like.
And change the stupid subscribing to contests thing so it doesn't show EVERY SINGLE PERSON who subscribed to it. It's annoying to scroll down a lot.

But then again i like to stay in certain fandoms and rarely venture out, sooooo...yeah.

If i could add anything to TheO i'd add Featured fandoms for each section, fanart, wallpaper, etc. And the featured fandom would have to be from THAT DAY but couldn't be something that's already so popular. We gotta show the lesser known works some love too. <3

Haha I love that person's art too(they aren't my FAVE artist ever but...I know who you're referring to). But yes I do agree, I don't even see them reply to comments either(even questions). It saddens me to see that...I mean it's understandable sometimes when the person doesn't know english well, but I think that artist knows english just fine. And friends I have that don't know english well at all comment/post more than her/him(not gonna divulge identity).

But I do agree with you...a lot of the REALLY popular artists on this site never really seem to comment a lot. I would love to see an artist that is popular but also has a reason to be well-liked besides pictures in a portfolio. Getting to know them personally is always a nice thing...but if you look at really popular artists, a lot of them don't seem to have any more than 30-50 at best in subscriptions. Same goes for their DAs and such...I guess the internet art system is really flawed in that way.

On that note, theOtaku does have its flaws too as much as it has some pros that other sites lack. But yeah, the feature fandom..hm...I don't know, I'd like to see some art that really is from some not-very-well-known artists. I don't mind so much if it's on the front page as a RESULT of the feature fandom, but if it's already like one of the top 8 and it's featured, yeah that's a bit disturbing and discomforting on the part of the moderators.

Hm...what would I want to add..well they've done pretty much everything that's been asked of by members, but I wish that they'd make the seeing when friends come online thing not a premium feature for one. It's nice to know when my friends are on and when I can talk to them etc. Sometimes PMing just doesn't keep up for long T__T And another thing would probably be regarding the competing system here. I don't know, it just doesn't seem like they are doing enough to make unnoticed artists get noticed more. I try and comment people that have such nice art(or need improvement etc) so I can boost their spirits up everyday but one person like me isn't gonna help them get more attention than they are getting >.< Nonetheless, eh, there isn't a whole lot I can do. Besides, drama can be dangerous, as we've seen in the past.

Maybe instead of a "fandom feature of the day" maybe they could just make it a completely random piece of art/wallpaper/ect instead of just choosing one that's really popular.
