Lemme put it this way. People who know they are being jerks are not going to tell you they're being a jerk. There's a point to trusting someone's word, and after that I like to find out the truth period. That's why when I was in the chat that morning, I couldn't take anyone's side; my presence made him quiet down, and I couldn't believe anyone without looking at a chat log.

They usually don't. :/ Some people own up to behaving like a jerk where others will keep lying about it. Makes no sense to me, but that's what they do.

It is, since everyone has different lines that they don't want to cross. I think how the phrase is used would be a deciding factor as well since it's impossible to set down a concrete guideline.

If anything, it'd be a world set up so only chat-mods could view it. Just, working out the logistics of how to let the guest-post list discern, along with preventing anyone else from viewing it, is the sketchy part.

The other option would be a Red Light thread at OB, but since not everyone gold here is staff there....

Man... what a pain. Mods really have a handful, eh? It's good that most people are backing Mods up, for they know they're doing their job.

I think it all comes down to the golden rule, you know? I mean, if you don't want others cursing at you, you better not curse. And if someone asks you nicely that you have offended them in some manner - whatever it may be... just simply stop. Apologize and stop.

That's the whole point of being able to make password protected rooms. If the room creator is fine with it then I don't see a problem. Mind you I'm talking about normal speech, not using it to be rude to others.

I have the same sentiments that Allamorph does since this kind of thing really needs to be dealt with. No member need to put up with that kind of nonsense.

I've actually thought about creating a world just for moderation stuff like this. It would make it easier to keep the stuff seperate from any personal blogging. o_O

I agree. There's no reason why members should have to put up with that. I'd like to see more chat logs sent my way or to any moderator since you guys can forward them to me if need be.

And I'd like a way to let chatroom moderators keep each other appraised of members that have come to their attention. But that'd be interesting to manage.

I've been thinking on that one actually, ever since we discussed it briefly on AIM a while back. I still haven't come up with a solution, but I haven't stopped looking into possible means for doing just that.

o_O If they were saying they did nothing... boy was that a complete and total lie. That was painfully stupid to read. I'm with Allamorph, we need to encourage people to save and turn people in for that kind of behavior.

The other is a good idea too, but I'm not sure how we'd manage a place for mods to let others know about problem members in the chat.

Omgosh I can't believe how immature people can be sometimes... You would have thought that with the age restrictions and such they should be matture enough not to even cause these sorts of arguments...

Exactly. Though some members can't create a room since you have to be around for a year first. It's part of why we're so strict with the Lobby. Some people can't go to another room.

Though in that case, like I mentioned to you in chat, it's not that hard to use something like AIM or any other IM service if someone wants to swear that badly.

I see it like the lobby to a theater. If you want to be mature, you go to the room where the R rated movie is. =P Once you fork over that password that is. Heh.

Or hey, if you wanna swear, you could also make your own room, right? So there really is no excuse.
