As someone who is very accident prone and has sliced myself open MULTIPLE times at a goddamn coffee bar (and who is also certified in First Aid and Wilderness First Aid)...hydrogen peroxide. It's like, 99 cents a bottle, and it bubbles all the germs to the surface to prevent infection, and it doesn't really hurt. Keep things clean!

I did the same thing to my thumbs months ago when I was slicing bread. And then I discovered how awesome these new ceramic knifes my dad got are. So much easier to slice things with. Wish I'd used 'em then.
EDIT: When I did that, I cut my left thumb. Now, I'm right handed, but it's not easy to do certain things with one thumb injured. :V

I could try scanning my finger since my older camera won't sync up with Vista and my laptop with XP on it stopped loading. By the time I get a newer camera it will be all healed up. lol

I hate to say this, but it's nice to know someone else has injured themselves in the finger department. Last Thursday I burned the middle finger of my right hand with some chicken broth. Yeah. Splatted it right over the finger as I was getting it out of the microwave. I think I did pretty good not throwing the soup across the room, but I did actually sit and cry. It's feeling much better now, but looks a little weird. I hope your finger heals soon.
I must admit I did have a lot of fun showing off my burn to my coworkers.

I still have a scar on my right ring fingertip from a similar incident. All I wanted was an apple. Damn thing curved on me.
It's got this cool V/7 look to it, though. I should become a Gentleman Thief. My fingerprint could be my calling card.
