Yes, that's one of the major downfalls of cool storms...it knocks the power and/or internet down! NOOOO!!! We had a really bad storm here last night and a lady I work with said her kids called to tell her part of their roof has been blown off. We don't get tornadoes really around here either since there's too many hills but we did get one once and since there's so many trees and forests, it knocked a lot of limbs around.

I've never liked high wind, like anything over 15 mph I hate it when it constantly hits me in the face, plus umbrellas are totally useles in wind-driven rain.
The wind made Aaryanna skittish since all the tree branches were moving in the wind. >_> I'm glad it stopped now. Some of those bursts of wind were pretty crazy!
I hope those were 40-70 mph gusts and not sustained? 70mph sustained is getting into hurricane strength. o_O
Since we got hit by the storm in SLC before it got to Beth... it was around 30-35 mph sustained with gusts up to 70 mph. It's been one hell of a windy day. It has at last finally ended and the wind has dropped to about 10 mph sustained.
It played havoc with my Internet too Beth. >_> Not as bad as what you got, but still. It did have it's moments earlier this evening.

We were also getting some pretty strong winds last night and into the morning but not that strong. The wind advisory for this area said 20-30 mph sustained with gusts up to 40 mph.
I had similar issues earlier this evening when the storm front hit SLC.^^ So I quit trying to do things and did something else. It seems to have died down though and things are working again. It sure was windy for a while though.

I don't like storms due to the fact that when they kick in, the power is down... I get bored easily without electricity when I am stuck at home.
Lucky for you that tornadoes are rare in your parts, or you wouldn't just be worried about the cable breaking.
