More than likely the adware was snuck (huh, "snuck" isn't in Firefox's Dictionary) in by a third party, but yeah, it's still kinda their fault for being lax enough to let someone exploit their software like that.

I know how that feels, though. Some fake antispyware program wormed its way into my system about a month ago and I ended up spending the better part of the next 48 hours playing Search and Destroy with my own hard drive. It was also one of those ones that locks up all your other programs by lying to you and saying they're infected, so I ended up doing most of that in Safe Mode. I think I got it from TV Tropes, sadly enough. See if I ever turn off AdBlock for them again.

Thankfully, I don't play skype games...

Never heard the term till now, but I think it fits.
That's the thing with Skype, it's much more vulnerable to those things. Granted, I've lost hard drives to viruses. Wish I knew how those work.
