You could also go as one of your OCs...at least I've done that for a number of conventions :P
Another thing my friends and I have done is alter the outfits to be more modest (like my friends Robin from One Piece outfit or my Aqua cosplay, I even have a modestified cosplay outfit for my OC Natsuko when I dress up as her)
I'm guessing you're going for long dark hair? Lets see...

why not saki from fruits basket. will that work for cosplay otherwise you can go to the site where i got my edward elric cosplay. click this http://www.cosplaymagic.com/theyre cosumes are well made and very comfortable.
