That's true, both interior and foreign politics are independent. Queen only serves as acting head of the state, which is tradition, but actual power of queen presence is almost none in others.
But it seems that you missed my question. I meant when you became independent? It is interesting to me, because of the changes that happened in British empire in the beginning of 20th century, so that's why I am interested.^^
You are right- we are part of the commonwealth; but we pretty much retain 100% independence. If the queen didn't want to say, sign a law(as she's ment to do) than we would say "off the money you go!". You are right but Canada is primarily; independent.
